My Top 3 Head Coaching options after Fox is fired..

In order

Bill Cowher- ..We aren't really in rebuilding mode, and no doubt he wants to win now. He brings in a REAL DC (Ron Meeks sucks) and if Peppers stays, he will motivate him to play..and his offensive is PERFECT for Jake if he is still he (hopefully he isn't but..)

Butch Davis- Hammer me all you want, I don't care. He has turned the NORTH CAROLINA TARHEELS into a serious competitive team. Mind you, I don't even watch ACC football (Roll Tide!!!) but since I forced to watch the Tar Heels living in North Carolina, I like the guy...

Lovie Smith- He is going to get fired by the Bears. He is a good coach, that took the Bears to the SB a few years back, and haven't really done anything since. His QBs have been worse than Delhomme..sign him up.

*awaits mounds of haters*..

...Would give Cowher 3 year deal just to see if he is the real deal. No coach has won the superbowl with 2 different teams.. lets not play the odds.

..Davis is strickly a college coach as was Spurrier....

...Lovie cant find Gilligan let alone his @sshole with a funnel...

Why fire a DC in his first season? His defense are starting to work, but apparently the injuries on Davis, Kemo, & others is making us use several backups. Give Meeks another chance & with more creative control. They might be even better, but time will tell.

sounds a LOT like what we were all hearing about Davidson, that worked well.

The only problem I have with Meeks is that he has never put together a good run defense, and unfortunately we dont have Peyton Manning here to make him look good.

The problem with both coordinators that we have on staff is that Fox will not let them do their job, don't you find it a little funny that our entire defensive staff gave up on trying and jumped ship last year? Not something you would expect from a 12-4 team returning 21 of 22 starters.

Yeah because most of the pictures I have seen of him were not gameday pictures.

I should have been more clear. All of the pictures that you see of him during games are him pissed off making angry faces but that isn't how he actually is during games. I could find 200 pictures of Fox pissed but he isn't really like that.

People wanting Cowher are expecting a firey coach that they think we are lacking, but in reality he will hardly be more firey than Fox during games.

My first choice: Holmgrem

2nd choice: Holmgrem

3rd choice: Holmgrem

I dont know why I never see Holmgrem on anybody's choice for HC here. He has won in two different cities and can develope a QB. JR should do what he can to make a push for him. I know somebody said he wants to go to Clevelend, but that doesnt mean he wont consider Charlotte.

9 division titles

8 years in the playoffs with a 21-12 playoff record

9 seasons with at least 10 wins

11 seasons over .500

Only 3 seasons below .500 and 1 at .500

2 Super Bowls and a Super Bowl win

Anyway, my choices are Marty Schottenheimer (I think if the right opportunity rises, he'll take it), Leslie Frazier, Ron Rivera, Sean McDermott, or Cowher.

And 14 yrs. to win a Superbowl. Do you guys really want to wait that long after getting him to win the SB? I thought one of the reason some of you guys that are sick of Fox & want him gone is because it would take so long to get back to the SB again & win it. Sound like Cowher when he took over the Steelers. I'm all for a new coach next year that isn't too conservative, but chance are Cowher may not have the same success here like he has with the Steelers. Plus, no coaches has ever won a SB with one team & another one with a different team even though Holmgren almost accomplish that.

I've actually heard Holmgren wants a job in some sort of front-office capacity. Perhaps we could grab him as our next GM? :D

Per PFT, there's a building buzz that Holmgren may return to Seattle as their version of Bill Parcells.

I find the whole notion amusing, since when he had the dual-role before he was specifically asked to give up the GM duties. Now there's talk he may become the GM again, with Mora jr remaining as head coach.

If this does happen, it may mean Tim Ruskell becomes a free agent. He's had a decent record overall as a GM, so I wouldn't mind the Panthers giving him a look.

(if the GM job is open, of course)

I'll pass on all those guys. Lovie Smith is a Fox Clone. I have heard some of his press conferences. You would think they were brothers or something.
