What the fug is going on I figured it’d be for like $2m a year. Jesus Christ this fuging team needs to just be removed from the league what a joke

In the English Premiere league (soccer) at the end of the season the worst team in the league gets relegated or put down to be replaced by the champion of the second-tier league.   That's actually a really good system which ensures franchises are held accountable for their management decisions.

Too bad the NFL doesn't have a framework like that . . .

Honestly, for the house cleaning in a year or two, I’m thinking Pickett may be the best. He only costs us a LT. Going all out for Jimmy G or Cousins will cost us more picks and likely hang a $100M guaranteed money to kill this team even longer. At least Pickett is a cheap mistake because mark my words, we will make a mistake on our next QB.

It’s sad that these are the circumstances we have been reduced to….

good for Ian Thomas, that's a good contract for him.

yeah I don't get this move, but let's be clear about the impact of this contract: it's basically a one year prove-it deal with half of the guaranteed money in the first year. it's definitely more than I expected but it's not going to hamper the team after this year.

but in a year where they have numerous holes to fill using free agency, I'm surprised they committed that kind of space to a player like Thomas without even letting him test the market. what is it about Ian Thomas that they just had to secure him before the free agency period? I'm not seeing much in that regard.

Basically yeah, but I think Pickett is probably good enough to win 8 games and that keeps rhule on for another year.  Thats the scary part

"At $5.5M per year, Ian Thomas becomes the 16th highest average paid TE in football. Strong deal for a primarily blocking TE, especially with plenty of available options on the open market this March."

This makes me want to throw up.  And cry.

Basically cry while throwing up.

Hence hoping for Pickett. It ruins the team/sets us back less than a huge QB deal for a mediocre QB would do.

At least we can have a drinking game with the following:

1. Chug a beer every time an announcer says Pickett had the smallest measures hands in the history of the combine.
2. Chug a beer when baby hands cause a snap to be mishandled.

3. Drink half every time he fumbles.

4. Add half a beer if the fumble was due to a hit that doesn’t touch the ball.

5. Drink a sip every time baby hands saves us a sack because the ball slips out of his hand going forward before he’s down.

6. Finish beer in 5 if the ball slipping out of his hand ends up as an interception.

I'll play but it's gonna have to be a root beer for me. The strongest thing I drink is Dr. Pepper.

I won't wind up drunk but I'll probably need to piss like a racehorse.

I'm wondering if they'll use him as a fullback.

At least that might make sense.

The only sliver of hope I have is that new OC Ben McAdoo sees some type of magic he can do with Thomas (such as a FB as you suggest) which GREATLY increases his value to the team.

But that's really grasping at straws . . .
