Slow off-season debate: would this bring you hope? Could this get you excited for the future?

No because that would mean that Rhule thinks Willis is the best QB in the draft, therefore in this hypothetical scenario, he would become the worst QB in the draft based on Rhule's previous failed attempts at evaluating the position.

This is also true. Which is why it makes perfect sense that he seems enamored with Pickett.

No. If Willis has to sit a year, you might as well wait until next year and let the new staff, since you said Rhule gets fired, take their pick of the available QBs because the Panthers will have another high pick in this scenario. Plus, we know there are at least four elite Oline prospects in this weak QB class draft, three LTs and one center. Sorry BC fans, I don't think he's the LT of the future. One or more of those four prospects should be there when the Panthers pick at 6 and both positions are needing an upgrade in a bad way.

And yes, I would take Linderbaum at 6. Teams are coveting all young Oline talent now. Proof of that is that Fitt said he couldn't find a single team willing to trade any of their Oline players this past season. Linderbaum is supposed to be the best center prospect in years and the top Oline prospect in the draft, so you take him and let him anchor the middle of the line for the next decade regardless of positional value, chart points, and whatever fans or talking heads claim.

We definitely don't need to drop another $5M on a journeyman guard or tackle in FA. Problem is Rhule is trying to save his job and he has the contract to allow him to do whatever possible despite every move being a crapshoot
