There's no point whining about QB when you put them behind that iOL (especially). Mike Vick in his prime would struggle to evade the pass rushers. 

As for Tepper being a coward for avoiding the media - what's he meant to say? People have entrenched themselves in their opinions about his HC. Why bother giving them a free shot at you in an interview if you don't have to?

He's not made $15bn by avoiding the big decisions - he's as ruthless as they come.

Big balls don't make you smart.

When it comes to money, he's smart.

When it comes to football, he's not.

The cardinal sin for an NFL team owner is trusting the wrong people. Tepper has done that continuously ever since he got here, and at least so far he shows no sign that he's learned any better.

He still seems to think that he can just big ball his way into being an NFL champion, but there's no indication he has the requisite brains to make it happen.

And as long as he keeps putting his trust in the wrong people, it's not going to.

He is incredibly financially savvy. 

 

But I think that's what he cares about at this point.   He changed the grass to turf against the wishes of every player because it saves him maintenance money.   He is leaving a lame duck HC in place because he stupidly gave him a 7 year deal and doesn't want to pay another coach.

 

And he invested all this money into building a soccer team so that people will still fill the seats all the while letting his football team crash and burn.   The morale is so low among fans.  We have NO hope at all with Rhule.

going the rookie route might buy you a mulligan, I"ve said for a while that is a possibility, but if you use pick 6 on a QB then you aren't using it on a LT.

If he doesn't improve the line much then whatever rookie QB you draft might look so bad you don't even get the mulligan.

Honestly the option that is probably the safest for saving Rhule's job is to use pick 6 on a LT then go and trade for Cousins.  

Not sure if that is the long term answer us fans want but if I was in Rhule's shoes that is probably the route i would go, seems like the best chance to win 9 games or so and maybe be in the playoff hunt in the short term.

But given just a few smart moves, there could be significant improvement for 2022:  

• Fix the OL with a LT at #6 and a free agent.  Suddenly the running game gets a lot stronger.   
• New play caller at Offensive Coordinator.  Maybe Darnold can become an average QB under him and with the better protection.
• Put CMC in the slot so he can avoid injury and stay on the field for 17 games.   The result is an MVP caliber player who's available all year.  That's got to help.
• keep the D as is with Shaq's contract restructured

Do that and maybe the Panthers can be a .500 team and trending upwards.  Which would be a big step in the right direction.

Um the braintrust in place made their choices that has led to all of this. They chose to draft a corner at 8 instead of OL and they chose to sign two of the worst starting olinemen on the first day of free agency. To defend this mess that Rhule and Fitterer have created you either have to be a suckup or just very confused.

That would be the plan but seems like Rhule and Tepper have their heart set on a shinny new QB. You would think a 7 year plan would have some patience to do what you recommend.  I just cannot muster up any hope that Rhule and Tepper will/can do the right thing.
