I just don’t know how they would go about fixing the OL if they took on Cousins contract.

That’s why I say a swap of 1st round picks would be crucial. We wouldn’t have much left in FA. Although if you trade for Cousins you’d most likely be extending him. I’m sure they’d backload the contract.

I don't think there's any planning whatsoever other than desperately seeking to get lucky while overspending for veteran QBs the rest of the league is moving on from.

Lol, yeah totally. All of Cousins teammates everywhere he’s ever been hate his guts. Where are you even getting this from? Bullshit put out by Minnesota so they don’t have to give him a big money extension?

Jesus Christ does your google not work.  Folks in washington hated him and folks in Minny (including the god damn coaches) hate him

Stafford is a better QB than Cousins.

Cousins gets the volume stats that look pretty on paper, but as far as playing the position, he is Teddy Bridgewater in his final form.

People were clowning on Stafford for his pick in the endzone during the super bowl. Situationally though, it was the right call. They were out of FG range, it was 3rd and long, and he had a guy in the end zone. It became an arm punt and the Bengals got a touchback. The risk reward was worth it to attempt the shot. Good QBs have that situational awareness to know when to take those risks.

Cousins does NOT have that situational awareness. If it's 4th and 10 and the team is down a score late in the fourth, Cousins will hit his open safety outlet to gain 7 yards when he instead has a one on one matchup 20 yards down the sidelines. Is it technically the "right" throw because it's safe and he's open? Yes. It pads the stats and makes him look efficient. But is it really the right throw if it doesn't actually result in the team getting closer to win?

There's a reason that Stafford has the most Comeback wins in the NFL since he became a starter. Dude has ice in his veins and he is willing to take the risk it for the biscuit throws because he's not a wuss.

66%, 4200 yards, 33 TDs, 7 INTs. Show me 1 Carolina QB who’s EVER put up a season like that. I’ll wait.

One played in the Void of success that is Detroit for 12 years.

Kirk Cousins is a true stat pader. Matt Stafford is a baller.

Would Cousins instantly improve our QB situation? Of course he would.

Would he get us over the hump and into the post season? Most likely no. He's incredibly expensive and the cost to trade for him is most likely not worth what the end result would be. He does not elevate the team around him so he is not worth it.

Stay away from Qirk Qousins.

I've generally put Stafford and Cousins in the same tier of QB.

Stafford has elevated himself. Don't know if Cousins will but if we get him, I hope so.

Stafford finally got a good coach with a well built team.  He's always been a good qb, just on a bad team.

Had he came here he would still be a good qb but on another bad team with bad coaches.

I'm done hoping for Tepper's poo show. I'm just hoping at this point that Howell finds a nice landing spot in the draft. Tepper took a mediocre franchise that occasionally flirted with greatness and turned it into the joke of the league with stunning efficiency. This poo is over folks.

Yep.

Rhule is an awful head coach and all that but firing Rhule doesn’t solve this organizations biggest problem…

David Tepper

We’re honestly so f*cked

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
