Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Other than rumors and fans hoping it's true, I've seen nothing that says Rhule will be gone.

too much at stake, no one is going to report that he’ll be gone, he’s obviously given another chance to win

2-3 years of failure before termination is very commonplace

4 years? does anyone know a HC that was granted a 4th year after 3 losing seasons? that’s extremely rare…i mean that’s historically rare

nah Tep isn’t that stupid, fans will already be scarce after next years’ imminent failure and to get yet another year he knows that means fans and revenue will be nonexistent

to do that he’d have to defy history, odds, and be otherworldly, unheard of stupid…all at once - i don’t see that happening

It's been stated many times that Tepper won't give his vote of confidence to Rhule.  Many on here believe that Rhule may sell the farm to bolster his chances of staying beyond 2023.   Rhule has ultimate control which scares the crap out of many of us.

Do you think Tepper will be in the war room on draft day like he was last year?

More importantly do you think he'll nix any trades that jeopardizes our future?  (ie 2023 and beyond 1st round picks)

In 2010 Hurney almost traded away our 2011 (Cam) pick but couldn't find any takers (praise god).   I sure as hell will be furious if he trades that pick away and we end up in the top 5 next year.   It would suck to see a team on the cusp of a championship end up getting a top 5 pick because Rhule sold out in 2022.

I don't think Rhule would be mad at all if he got fired.  He'll be owed a lot of money.  This may be a situation where the owner may not want to give the coach what he want.....his red slip.

Agreed.  Only hope and speculation

My biggest worry is that Rhule gets us on the Cusp of a playoff appearance 9-8 or 10-7 and Tepper hangs on another year.

It's also not out of the question since he was forcefully force to upgrade his coaching staff.  An improved staff may help his cause.  I am sure that is the only reason Rhule hung around one more season.

To be honest, if Rhule gets into the playoffs either with Sam or a rookie QB, from the worst oline in the league one year removed, after a winning season I’d have absolutely no problem with him staying.

I think people should remain objective - the hate for Rhule shouldn’t be so great that there is nothing that can happen next year that won’t warrant a return.

Historically year 3 is very telling, tons of examples. It’s the pivotal momemnet for new HCs, most of the time they’re either fired or retained.

10 wins and a playoff spot? Would be foolish not to give that more time.

But that is a high bar I just can’t bring myself to believe it’ll happen because there is zero progression unlike Rivera for example.

yes he will 100% be there

long as 2023 picks are safe i honestly don’t give 2 shits what happens, Rhule is gone next year anyways and there isn’t enough cap to make a monstrous mistake contract/cap wise

with all that has spent on Darnold, I don’t see how it’s not obvious that’s the guy Rhule needs to be (and had chosen to be) the qb personally I feel much more was spent on him than TB, picks are not cap, they’re worth so much more. Rhule set himself up like this, let’s not let him set up the new regimen for failure

so again, long as those picks and cap are safe for the next regimen who cares

if future picks are allowed to be traded, I’m pretty much checked out for a while, just no point

Yeah, I don't like meddling owners but we will need Tepper to step in if Rhule starts getting wild with future draft capital. Frankly, if he doesn't step in, it proves that he is an idiot or Matt Rhule really is Tepper's guy and there is no hot seat.

That would be so sad since we all thought were getting a guy that came from a solid organization.  His 5 or 10% investment in the Steelers must have been just that.  He learned nothing about how a football organization should be run.

We have to hope he learns and improves. If not, we are royally fuged. Dan Snyder fuged.

I am pretty sure he tried to push for Fields last year and regrets not pushing more now. Doubt that helps at all.

I have heard that rumor also.  The jury is still out on that one. But I have an aversion to OSU QB's. I feel the same about USC QB's.  But given the situation we are in a qb world have probably been a better choice.

I am a fan of drafting one every draft until you hit on one to build an offense around.  Unfortunately we have someone in charge that thinks he can resurrect one from the ashes of someone else's scrap heap.

I would love to see inside there and Rhule says we taking this guy Tep I don’t care what u say. Then Tep lays a beat down on Rhule and says ur fired bitch!

That sceniro would be one of the best things that could happen to assure the Panthers success going forward.

People just need to accept that Rhule has the authority to run the team. It's in his contract! Tepper is not going to stop him, war room or not, unless he fires him, and he hasn't fired him, and realistically that ship has sailed for the 2022 season. We're going to have to deal with whatever Rhule decides. If it has future repercussions, we're just going to have to put our big-boy pants on and deal with it.

    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
    • I dont think the clock has started yet on canales.  Once he gets his guy then the pressure starts.  WFNZ/mike kaye said  yesterday that he thinks there are 4 options here regardless of bryces status, Geno, Fields, Wilson maybe Jones.
