Thoughts on trading DJ Moore?

Oh of course we have no certainty on the notion but if it's between us and the Bucs the Saints possibly NYG or another big market our looming lame duck coaching situation and oline will not do us any favors.

That’s fair I’m not banking on it but where there is smoke there is fire Panthers have been mentioned since day 1. In the end I imagine we go down swinging either striking out or home run.

Rhule, Fitts, and Tepper swinging at quality vet QBs with other good options available to them

4th best. Behind Smith, Muhammed and Bersin.

I honestly didn't understand people's dislike of Bersin as a player. He never was a star or anything. He wasn't going to knock people's socks off but he did make the catches when we needed him to. Thinking about all the dropped passes we had this season makes me kind of miss having somebody with sure fire hands lol (I would say CMC but he has to stay healthy for that).

As for the topic on hand, I'll pass on trading DJ. He's our current best receiver and as others have pointed out he's had multiple 1000 yard seasons with a very lackluster QB's and with a OLine that struggles to give WR's any time to get into their routes before getting the QB killed. They'd have to make one hell of an offer for me to agree to trade him.

Watson doesn't want to come here and has a no trade clause that he can use to avoid us. It's over. What's worse is that Watson is considering going to the Bucs assuming Brady stays retired.

Trading DJ is certainly a good idea assuming he is worth a 1st round pick. You don't want to lose a proven #1 WR for a second or third round pick. Not good enough. But the timing for dumping him makes sense as he'll be useless next season with Sam, or some other washed up vet throwing the ball. Better to have a 1st round draft pick and plan for the future than give a win now WR a huge payday.

I had no hate for him. He was just a standard JAG roster guy.

He had blonde hair, was about as light colored as a ghost, played WR and somehow stuck on the roster as a bubble player for a handful of years would explain the hatred around here from most of what I saw over the years in all honesty. I'm sure Cooper Kupp experienced some of that same crap till he showed he was no joke at all. Bersin was no Cooper Kupp let's face it but dude must have been some form of an athlete to stick on an NFL roster a few years.

I'm not supposed to talk about all that I'm sure though but let's state the obvious if you truly want to know why Bersin got so much blah around here or we can use the excuse that he was Jerry Richardson's second cousins aunts uncles sisters kid if we like. It was the position he played and the color of his skin plain and simple. No sense in hiding the elephant in the room and deep down most know that I am about 90% correct in all I said no matter what they will admit on here. I remember people laughing at Pat Jeffers the same way when he came around until he proved he was pretty damn good before he tore his knee up and was never the same. Heck, I think I even laughed at Jeffers and Bersin for all the same reasons but at least I can admit it.

I hear ya though I do still miss having a reliable hands guy (at least as a WR. I remember how terrible he was as a Kick returner lol). It kind of feels like anytime we get a person to be our reliable hands guy we end up losing them somehow (like trading Dan Arnold to the Jaguars).

Why not just trade Moore and Burns?  Not like they are proven NFL players.  The more draft picks, the better, right?

I enjoy the thought processes and mental games here, but I don't see any reason to trade DJ at all.  DJ is our best WR, and one of the best weapons we have.  He plays hurt, and he's not a diva.

He's had to deal with some absolute poo regarding QB play.  He's also losing RZ TD chances to CMC.

I just don't see an avenue for improvement that's going to cost less than keeping DJ Moore.  It's about the QB, which will happen in the next two years.
