2009 Draft Mid Season Review

They just need more time to be evaluated accurately. More often then not I find it's the guys who are chosen later in the draft rounds (3,4, etc) that really shine. Half the 'superstar' first rounders turn out to be busts, and require cap space. The later rounds are the real value for the $, however you have to have the talent, that can spot the talent.

I also agree Brown will eventually be an awesome player. Whether he was from the first round or third, whether or not your getting a good player that can play well in the NFL is always unknown.

Halfway through the his rookie season Davis looked like a horrible choice. Now he may be the best Defensive player we have.

Many of the players we drafted Goodson,Robinson, Fiammtea, even Brown. Were not expected to be starting this year and more are long term. To judge rookies halfway through there rookie season when they werent even planned on starting, isnt really a good indicator at all, even intially.

I am with ya. Brown will be everything we hoped he will be. When we let Peppers go after the season everyone will be happy we have Brown. Brown and CJ will become one of the best young tandems in the league. Mark it down.

Robinson was listed just like Otah was. A Beast. He will come around. Fiammeata is making Rookie mistakes but you can be he is in the back pocket of Brad Hoover every game. Fullback is a tough position to pick up but I have 100% confidence we got the right man for the job. Goodson will come around too. His confidence is a bit shaken but he will rebound.

Martin and Captain will continue to get better and be a solid part of our defense for years to come.

Too many people getting critical over players that haven't even had a full season under their belt. Lets go back to slamming Jarrett. 2 1/2 seasons and he his still garbage.

Go Panthers

you cant just show up in the NFL and play with greatness right out of the box, every game.

Every Rookie has A LOT to learn. Hell if you look at Peyton Manning 1st year you would have thought he was another Ryan leaf.

People also said DeAngelo was a bust after his 1st season because he didnt break 1000 yards...

It takes time to develop all the skills you need in the NFL to succeed in the NFL

Brown-going to be a great pick, everyone said Johnson was a "too small" DE now he is about the biggest motherf**ker on the team. Brown is going to add weight and add knowledge and dude is going to be a beast.

Martin-potential to be a very good FS. People do not realize that FS/SS are two of the hardest positions to play because they are not instinct based positions. If you are playing safety and playing on instinct you are screwed. Probably 2 of the 3 positions that you actually have to think to play. QB is the only other position.

Irvin- not sure yet, if he gains muscle like Johnson did dude could be a beast.

Fiammetta-ROFL that OP said Sutton looked better. Stupid. Sutton looks better running the ball not blocking. FB is a hard position to learn because you have to know who to block not based on the play called but also based on what the D is. You ever wonder why teams are willing to pay fat money to 30+ y/o FB but not to young guys with potential?

Goodson-has potential but because of his system in college he is probably going to have growing pains. Steal in the 4th.

Robinson-the reason he fell so far was off-field issues and because his feet sucked. The reason he could of gone in the first, because the dude plays with one of the meanest streaks ever. He is nasty, but its going to take a year or two to develop his footwork.

Munnerlyn-anytime your 7th rounder even sees the field it is a succesful pick.
