Just two games after taking over for injured Thomas Davis as a starting outside linebacker, Landon Johnson has joined Davis on the injured reserve list and is out for the season.

Johnson suffered a knee injury in last Thursday's loss to Miami and was placed on I.R. today.

The Panthers signed Jordan Senn, a linebacker and special teamer, to replace Johnson on the roster.......(click link to read on)

LB was definitely one of our strong suits. We almost had too many LBs. Now it's all of a sudden an issue. When I first read about the LB injuries, I thought what difference does it make at this point, We're done. We'd get a higher 2nd round pick if we lose out. But we won't we'll we 3 or 4 games and end up with a mid 2nd round pick that won't get us squat!

But to the LB issue, the whole point of drafting Connor was he was suppose to be a stud. To me, he looks too small. But hasn't he cracked the lineup thus far. If he was so great that we had to draft him, instead of a safety (which we desperately needed) why haven't we used him over Anderson or Johnson? Is he only going to play MLB? Thus far he's only been out there in a pinch or to spell.

My question is, is he going to eventually replace Diggs at weak side? He can’t play strong side (I wouldn’t think). Surely they wouldn’t put him at MLB and move Beason?

What if we switch to a 3-4 next year? Where do you think each LB will play in that scheme? Who would go and who would stay? Your DEs become outside LBs in that scheme, so where will Beason, Davis, and Connor play? Can Connor fit that scheme?
