Charlie Weis:"Golden Tate is a Steve Smith (carolina panthers) clone"

There will be. When I was growing up my dad always told me there'd never be another <insert record breaking player here>, or this/that certain record would never be broken. Those records were broken (hi, Hammerin' Hank!), and there are indeed other Joe Montanas and Jerry Rices and Barry Sanders.

Trust me, one day we'll have an amazing wide receiver here who talks smack, and is fiesty, and lacks something most other WRs have (in Smith's case, height).

IDK...if there will be..S.Smith is one of the most competitive guys I have seen..He gets a 5 yard pass and he is acting like he made a TD..Plus how many teams have and would be willing to have a 5'9 WR as there #1..and not just a slot guy?He is the guy all the undersized WR in HS and college look up too for being more than the slot guy and breaking the barrier.

When you think about it the panthers have two very freakish athletes that dont come around a lot on the team.J.peppers and S.Smith..who in the NFL could say that.

I think at one time every WR on the Redskins was under 4'.

I was gonna make a thread about Golden like 2 weeks ago, about the same subject... How I thought he reminded me a lot of Smitty and we should draft him... Problem is, he won't be around anywhere near when we draft this year, there's no way we get him unless he goes to the combine and runs a 4.6.

I think Golden will go in the 2nd...and its looking like we will have a high 2nd round pick.

Sorry have to disagree. Steve Smith has made a average at best QB look good for years.

Then how do you explain Muhammad being ranked as the second best receiver in the NFL by the guys at FootballOutiders.com in 2004. Moose had 1407 yards and 16 TD's that year - more TD's than Smith has ever had in a single season by-the-way. Think that was just a lucky year...Well in 2007, Moose's last year with Chicago, he had 570 yards and 3 TD's. The very next year with Jake he had 923 yards. For comparison, T.O. with Romo had 1052 yards. So T.O. with Romo only had 119 more yards than Moose with Jake.

Sorry, but I just don't buy that Smith makes Jake look good crap. Not given the success he and Moose have had as well.

Well if you've ever watched the Panthers then you would buy it. Just look at how much of their production is from good catches and running after the catch opposed to a perfectly placed ball. A jump ball between 2 defenders is not a good throw, all those under thrown moon shot deep balls Jake loves so much are not good throws. Smith and Moose are very good at adjusting to the ball and fighting for it. Jake has just been so far off this year even compared to prior years that they don't have a chance half the time.

Depends on who is running the show...like i said..if fox is still here i think fox will get a vet QB..then take a WR in the 2nd

That has been the norm for Fox in the past. Look how well its turned out though. Fox is a FA this off-season and he more then likely will stay that way.
