Are people really STILL defending the decision to stick with Jake going into '09?

"almost" won 3 games? LOL

Seahawks game was all defense and running game. We'd have won it with Vinnie still in there.

Dallas game wasn't as close as the score.

Tampa didn't even play most of their normal starters.

Moore wasn't the deciding factor in any of those.[/QUOTE]

can't argue with the fact the offense simply didn't move until Moore started. Vinny and Carr couldn't move the passing game......once Moore game in the offense was able to be more effective.

If it wasn't for some horrible calls....Carolina probably should have beaten Dallas.

No, it was clearly obvious after last season the Panthers could have picked up anyone off the street and gotten slightly better S play going into this season in comparison to what Godfrey was doing.

Carolina/Fox clearly thought Godfrey was the best guy they could plug in for the moment.....injury again proved Fox's evaluation was incorrect when most arm chair QBs realized he was too big of a liability to continue to play.

Yet, guys like you continue to point to Fox starting Jake as proof there aren't better options at QB currently.

Different. Godfry was a rookie who switched his position, there was no doubt that he would struggle. There was much reason to believe he would improve.

But if were using Godfry as a example that Fox can be wrong on talent. Lets use the ton of talented players we have starting to show that more often then not Fox is right about who should be starting. Which goes to the argument that Fox knows how to judge, which mean Fox very well could be right about Moore.

he might improve.....but a good coach doesn't but someone like Godfrey out there to cost the team games in hopes of improvement when it is too easy to get significantly better play elsewhere.....and medicore play is a jump up from Godfrey.

Fox goes into every season with a plan A. Only injury will force him out of plan A. There is nothing to argue otherwise. imo.

This is the point. You guys cant have it both ways! You cant say fox watches in practice and knows whats best and then question his personnel decisions on other positions besides qb.

Guess what! fox decided on keeping peppers. fox thinks dwayne jarret deserves a roster spot. so for all you people that state these guys suck or shouldnt be here cant then turn around and say fox watches in practice and knows best.

But isnt that what you do with most rookies? Espcially early drafted ones? Put them in there in hopes they improve?

There are ton of rookies who do average or worse as they transistion to the NFL only to grow and learn the next season. If they dont do well there rookie season, do you automtcailly look for a replacement?

And with are cap situation last year, who couldve we gave gotten at FS?

Jarret/Peppers isnt the same situation.

And you can say you disagree with Fox but also admit he would know better. They dont contadict each other.

I never said that. I only point out that Fox has far more info on the subject than you do. There are better options than Jake, lots of them, just none currently available. As for the DBs, you're in love with a few plays that Martin has made in the limited action that he's seen. Ints sure are nice, but we'll never know if Godfrey would have made those plays or not. What we do know as indisputable fact is that both Martin and Godfrey both average slightly more than 3 tackles a game, Godfrey having a slight edge toward 3.5.

you guys are making it seem as if just because fox doesnt start him its because he sucks and he sees him in practice everday and if any one disagrees you state we shouldnt because fox knows best.
