Bad time for bad coaching decisions.

Bad time for the Panthers to make very questionable hiring decisions. Dennis Allen looking for a HC gig with the Bears, sounds like S.P is going to walk soon also. Saints may be going down hard.

Brady may be gone next season. Meanwhile the Panthers aren't taking advantage of the situation as usual. Keeping an inept HC and bringing in a OC that is less then promising.

They should move fast and hard to secure the HC that can move them foward and should have chosen a OC who is not a retread with a questionable track record.

Unfortunately I have little faith in this front office and owner at this time. We are behind the eight ball again.

I honestly don't get this concept. We brought him in as an OC which is where he did his best work in the past. If we made him HC then sure his track record isn't all that great but on the books as an OC he took a Giants offense from ranking nearly last in points to ranking like 12 or 13th and then ranking 6th over 2 seasons. Plus he has NFL coaching experience, which let's be honest, we desperately needed and should already of had.

No lipstick needed to justify just cleaning the slate and starting from scratch here. Any other team making moves, forward or backwards, just don't matter. We are our own worst enemies at this point so just focus inwards. Everything else in the NFL is a distraction for the Panthers and shouldn't be a worry at this time.

I'm so much more worried about dysfunction growing inside this organization as this farce continues that the rest of the NFL is a minor threat at the end of the day.

McAdoo is a bad HC but his OC record is good.  He’s become a meme due to benching Eli to ruin his start streak and that goofy look he has, yet when he’s just calling plays he’s literally the best we could get.  Rhule is a clown but at least this is a solid hire of someone with much needed NFL experience.  Don’t get the hate for it aside from failing to see beyond the memes

There are 8 other teams we'd have to compete with to find a new HC, when the average is 5-7 per year at best. Big picture? Not a good time to compete for 2nd or 3rd best. Next year, if we still need to, then there'll probably be less competition.

What makes u think Saints and Bucs are just finished. I’m hearing they could both be going after Rodgers and Wilson so don’t sound to promising anyway. Just embrace the suck, it only takes 7 years!

Wilson is not a world beater, the saints will need more than just Wilson to win a super bowl. Sure they can beat the hell out of us with him, but they are not beating the elite teams with just adding Russ.

Rodgers on the bucs could be a problem if all Toms cronies dont leave.

What the others in our division may or may not do is so far outside our priority list it’s irrelevant.

The remaining coaching staffs in the playoffs right now together couldn’t coach this team to a winning season.

To pull off the X’s and O’s You need jimmys and joes.  We have neither the identity nor the personnel to establish one if we had it.

Yea there was a thread about this. Falcons in the dump, Saints not Brees and no Vicodin = bags again. Bucs no Brady = Bucs again but yet Panthers are Panthers again lol.

Coulda just kept Rivera he could beat whats left over in this trash heap....don't even have our avg HC anymore lol.

No, it's called looking back at the person's past work, especially at the position we are hiring them at, and making an opinion based on that. I'm not going to poo on every person we interview or bring in just because Rhule is still here.

    • Summary The 2024 Carolina defense posted a 44.9 grade last year, which was the worst in the NFL since 2020. They also had the worst receiving grade in the NFL despite a QB that emerged in the second half of last year. TMac is most likely WR1 in this class and is now WR1 in Carolina He's going to be incredibly helpful on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone. Highlights show just that: First highlight is Arizona vs. Utah. 4 verts vs. cover-0, TMac lined up alone on a go ball vs. press = we're launching it Second highlight shows his potential as the X. Runs a backside in-cut and the Tampa-2 MLB sells out on the corner route, leaving his back to TMac. Tough over the middle, explosive after the play. Sees TMac doing a lot of what Mike Evans was asked to do in Tampa. Third highlight shows how effective TMac is in the redzone and it's his one-handed catch vs. Travis Hunter. Brings "indefensible plays." Has size advantage that can beat guys, can jump, and has ridiculous hands. Will help Bryce in year 3 as it will allow him to continue playing "fearless" like he did after coming back from benching. Highlights show where TMac fits and re-emphasizes how he's going to make things easier on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone: Fourth highlight shows Bryce vs. ATL when he hit AT vs. AJ Terrell down the sideline. Bryce has to hold the single deep safety during his drop to give Thielen a chance (who is only 4yds off of the LOS when Bryce is throwing it). Registers the big-time throw attacking vertically. Fifth highlight is vs. KC on a blitz where Bolton is coming downhill while Karlaftis is dropping back over the middle. Has an in-route that has outside leverage with Chris Jones applying immediate pressure. Layered it over Karlaftis' head for the completion. Sixth highlight is the fade route TD to David Moore vs. Zona. in the redzone. David Moore was the X on this play. Thought this was interesting, especially considering recent conversations about Bryce's intermediate game needing to be better:
