Some interesting thoughts from the Cowboys board:

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/panthers-hire-ben-mcadoo-as-oc.492719/page-2

He seems to have been the primary candidate to replace Kellen Moore as their OC if Moore gets a HC job, so either that wasn't really the case, McAdoo didn't want to risk waiting and losing an offer in hand from Carolina, or Dallas is confident Moore is sticking around.

I mean, I get it; there's probably nothing short of firing Matt Rhule that will excite the fan base at the moment, but this doesn't mean McAdoo is automatically a bad hire. He's had some results as as an OC. I'm more interested in his philosophy (queue @Mr. Scot)!

Somebody did give evidence that he wasn't a fan of Sammy before Sammy became Sammy, so that speaks to some competence in QB evaluation (just to make you feel better).

You think we’ve gotten a fair eval of Sam with the O Line we have? He’s lucky he’s not dead

At least he has experience benching franchise qbs that shouldn’t be benched. He’ll fit right in

The interview question from Rhule that sealed the deal for this hire:

Matt - What were your thoughts on us benching Cam Newton for Sam Darnold late in the year?

Ben - Genius.

According to rappaport.

this franchise is a dumpster fire. Thanks Dave.

Well, what can we do about it?  Maybe this will work out.  Maybe it will not.  All I can say is; Tepper you made your bed now you have to lay in it.  I'm just not looking forward to next year.

There are some fairly consistent issues that Sam has even when we were going 3-0. He tends to hang on to the ball and gets mixed up fairly easily by pre-snap disguises by the defense.

He's got an NFL arm and athletic ability but in regards to being a leader, having football smarts, and soft mentality he's lacking. Those aren't things that can be fixed overnight.

Welcome aboard McAdoodoo. I think we can actually win the number one this season.  This guy shat on Sam so it's very possible he fed Rhule how to do QB another way. I'm still laughing, these people are fun in all the wrong ways.

    • From what I am seeing these are the locks for teams drafting in the top 10: 1. Ten - Cam Ward  2. Cle - Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter (it will be one of the two, so this close enough to a "lock") 4. NE - Will Campbell (it has been leaked that people in the building are claiming him as "our guy") 5. Jac - Mason Graham 7. Jets - Armand Membou (they want Graham, but he won't be there. Next guy on the board is Membou)   The real wild cards are the Giants and the Raiders. No one seems to know exactly what they want to do. I think if Hunter is there for NY they take him, but Carter is not a "need" for them, and they might entertain trades down, but anyone that wants to jump up to 3 would want a QB and that might be too rich for the return for most teams. Would someone trade up for Carter or Hunter? Maybe. But it would need to be a team on the verge of winning a championship to make that move seem logical. The Raiders could go any direction. They need help on both sides of the ball. They won't go QB because of the trade for Geno. With Pete Carroll at the helm, the logical thought is defensive back. Could Starks or Emmanwori go this high? Does Carroll like Will Johnson enough to pick him? Is Jeanty their guy? I think the Panthers spot at 8 has become very attractive. It isn't top 5, so it won't cost as much to trade up into it, and it is right above the Saints, who could be in the QB market, and the Bears, which have been heavily linked to Jeanty. I think if Jeanty is on the board at 8, Jerry Jones won't be able to help himself and will call us. Morgan will likely take the trade, add picks, and still get one of his top guys.
    • All I know is the track record of 1st round rookie Wr getting less than 500 yards in year 1 is very bleak. And mad because Bryce looks bad? I'm mad if a player in a panther jersey drops the ball. Don't get that argument...
    • Will say, I was watching clips and J Stewart was a nightmare for potential 1st round OT Ersery w/Minnesota.  Took care of that kid when they played.
