Carolina Panthers- Heed the lesson of the Tennessee Titans

Let me just start off by saying WE HAVE THE SAME RECORD at 4-6. The Titans started out 0-6, we started 0-3. Tennessee is 4-0 in their last 4 games, Panthers 2-2. Titans pulled their starting QB after a horrendous start, and are now one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Panthers are beginning to fizzle into oblivion. I don't think anyone would question that the Titans will finish with a better record than the Panthers at this point. It's just sad we're stuck with one of the worst QB's in the league and other teams can recognize their problems and solve them. They also benefited from having Vince Young though...a player that had lead the team to the playoffs before.

All I'm saying is - you can either leave your old struggling veteran QB the starter and take your chances, or hand the reigns over to the young guy on the bench. At 4-6, there aren't many other options to try and kickstart the team. The effort against Miami was subpar, and an article was even written about how the team didn't seem to care about the loss.

I think more than just for performance purposes, a change at QB might give the team the energy they need to gain that killer instinct, something the Panthers have lacked all season. If the team sees Delhomme get benched, a guy who has had more job security than anyone on the team, players might start to think "my job is on the line" and play their hearts out, instead of just playing for that paycheck.

I actually agree with you, despite my tongue-in-cheek comment above. We might get to see Moore out there, but I have a feeling it will be after we're statistically eliminated from the playoffs.

If you look at the Dolphins they have a similar situation. They would have never put Chad Henne in at QB. He looked bad in the preseason and in practice. Now that Pennington is hurt they had no choice, but I am sure, by now, they are not too upset that Pennington went down. The change at QB has made the team better. He is not great and will not be the next Dan Marino, but he is winning, something that Pennington could not do this year. This is just another example of you never know what you got till you try it out. I know it will not happen, but I am a Gamecock fan. So I am used to saying there is always next year.

Give us Vince Young, then we can talk. Otherwise, point invalid

the point here is that john fox will never bench jake..other qb's on our team will never get a chance..and for that reason we are not a successful nfl team due to poor coaching and management..

other nfl teams realize weaknesses and make the proper changes..i just wish the panthers coaches and management could do the same..

Not a great example. Titans hit a rock bottom that we have yet to achieve in years. They went 0-6 with a historically horrendous loss agianst the Patriots.

They had a top 5 draft qb in Young who was loaded with talent and potential and who already started an entire season in which he took his team to the playoffs.

Im pretty cofident that under simular circumstances Fox wouldve done the same.
