This is a typical move I expected. It's like Rivera after hiring CHUD. He went to a guy he knew couldn't take his place. It wasn't till years later he hired Norv and we had a decent concept and scheme. Rhule is going to be Rivera with a lot less winning.

How exactly does another year of Rhule doing more damage make that situation better?

That’s the point. Leash/damage control Rhule and send him out as a lame duck.

How is hiring some equally under-qualified (because that’s all Carolina has access to with what they’re selling) lame duck coach, whose system won’t be implanted all the same better or any different than that? It isn’t, it’s just the same.

Fans want an emotional ‘message to be sent’ firing but it literally means nothing and won’t do anything.

Fact is in what Carolina has to offer you cannot make this situation better. All you can do is take measures not to get worse.

Sorry I don’t see a difference unless 1. There is no damage control or 2. A talented prospect says fug better opportunities I’m going to Carolina.

Quite frankly, I see neither happening. I’ll be pretty shocked if Rhule os allowed to play with next years’ draft picks tbh.

What players are you worried about?  This is a roster on the whole devoid of talent

Chinn, Burns, Moore, Brian, CMC, Horn, Moton, Shaq, Brown. There isn’t a shortage of talent on this roster, the huge issue is Rhule trading away assets on a busted QB and ignoring key OL positions. You don’t keep a coach on the hot seat for a year while you are wanting to tank. What’s to stop Rhule from drafting Pickett, trading away a future 1st to draft another player of his choosing and signing Reddick to a bloated contract. Our situation got worse from Rhule’s first to second year and it very well could even get worse after his 3rd. Tepper guaranteed Rhule 3 years like a fool and he is going to give it to him..

There's no indication that Rhule is on any sort of "leash" or that he will be. And again, if you have to take those kinds of measures, just fire him.

Any notion that we become a more attractive destination after another year of Rhule, lame duck or not, is just silly.
