Charlotte FC Sells MF Riley McGree to Middlesbrough FC

Bummed about this but oh well.

We stand to make around $5M off a deal for a player that never played for us.

We still have eight roster spots available and three international slots. It would be nice to see a couple of DP’s and a few young depth signings.

As suspected, McGree didn’t want to be in Charlotte.

Charlotte FC sold the best player on the roster. Then I read the kid didn't want to be here. Had doubts about Charlotte FC. Wanted to play long term in England and Premeir League. So I guess it was the right move. Maybe we can use that money and go sign a Designated Player - a better player than Riley McGree!

MLS will always be a stepping stone/retirement league and depending on how Middlesbrough finishes this season, McGree could be playing in the EPL next year.
