All well in good and I'm not saying there weren't ppl who wanted Slater here... There were ppl who wanted Darisaw, and  Fields as well.. But when Sewell was gone which was most 1st choice by most.. I didn't see this whining on the Horn pick..

I saw more arguments and debates and hate threads on the Luke pick then on the Horn pick..

And reality if Horn didn't get a freak injury he was headed to a DRoY year.. And this wouldn't be a big deal..

Oh true true. Horn is a future staple for the team and I’m not mad about that one bit.

I’ve mentioned a bit but my bigger gripe is what we missed in round 2 given we took Horn. Could’ve easily had immense value in Cosmi, Radunz, etc. who met our measurables.

Considering how they utilized their second round WR in Marshall, it would’ve made so much more sense to grab that awesome Cinci guard or Cosmi.

The thing is we’ve got a coach who basically walked into the shooting range here when it could’ve easily been a simple fan tempering moment.

I don’t think I can recall an example of an NFL head coach giving his pre draft analysis after the season, of a player on another team who was a stud rookie , as like part of excuse making in not taking them. Just weird. Not good.

Belicheck the goat has done it a few times explaining his draft decision.. So you haven't been looking hard.. A few coaches have had to answer questions about their draft decision..

Gm after drafting have to answer about their draft all the time..

Passing over Fields was rightfully the more pressing topic.

Horn was playing well. The injury is a little concerning, but we'll hope for a bounce back in 2022. I doubt he would've beat out Parsons.

This I could agree with and wanted the same thing..

Not having Marshall out there more was a disappointment given his physical ability

He might not have beat out Parson but in 3 games he was shutting down half the field..

If I am not mistaken, we traded back in the first round with the Jets and took Beason--a good player, but we had Morgan at the time.  The Jets took CB Revis.

I have heard people criticize that move--passing on a lockdown CB.  I think Horn can be that good.

Besides, hindsight is not intelligence.  Any team has regrets when they look back on the draft.  If we'd have drafted Slater and started the season with DJax and Pride--we might be upset that Horn was sitting there at 8.

Calling them hypocrites is a little weak, I'm just saying.

There alot of analysts who had the same opinion on Slater that had egg on their face as well.. Just like there are alot who had Sewell way higher but won't say poo now..

And The original Twitter on this conversation was done by 4 Man Rush podcast and half of them had similar opinions on Slater... But now they post part of a interview to clown the coach for a percieved slight.. When they had a similar opinion..

Hypocrite!!

If Slater was allowed to do what he did in L.A., I seriously doubt that any Huddler, particularly the longtime ones, would've been upset in the slightest.

Rhule would've screwed that up too. Slater would probably have been on the sidelines.

Just listened to the second interview he did on WFNZ....First thing he says that he learned about himself and the 2021 season was not blaming others and throwing people under the bus...

I'm sitting there...sipping my beer....thinking about the time he told the media that Cam was responsible for the turn overs...even though his linemen stepped on him and he even got the damn ball in the RB's bread basket, even after the freak accident...

...throwing  Cam under the bus plenty of times....Thinking...This guy can't be serious.

Everything this man says makes my stomach turn and blood boil. The fact his hand picked crew is all but gone and he still remains is such a huge red flag and tell tell sign that HE IS the problem.

Tepper is a bigger disappointment. He knows it. He knows that Matt is not it and he will not swallow his stupid ass pride... You even see that bleed through and trickle down to Matt now swallowing his pride about Sam... fuging disgusted by this franchise right now.

Well, if it’s something that he needs to improve on and he said he’s going to improve on, then I guess there’s no other choice, but to see if he can do that?

I'd like to see those. Most of what I saw had Slater ranked very highly.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
