Charlotte FC selects Ben Bender, MF, Maryland as No. 1 pick

Had an excellent sophomore season at Maryland, earning All-Big Ten honors and once scoring a goal in five consecutive games — something a Maryland player hasn’t done since 2005. 

Bender was the consensus No. 1 pick, thanks to his ability to score as a midfielder.

Kyle Holcomb from Wake Forest and George Marks from Clemson round out the SuperDraft.

Bender was a necessity since it appears we have sold Riley McGree to Celtic FC (which I’m pissed about).
