Canes Pull Rabbit Out Of Ass, Sign Jack “Laffer” LaFontaine (G) to ELC

And out of left field the Canes have signed Laffer to his ELC. He will play out the remainder of this year on his ELC before becoming an RFA in the offseason.

Laffer previously turned down the Canes last offseason and he was set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason with the Canes losing his rights.

However, in desperate need of goalie depth, the Canes convinced Laffer to forego the remainder of the NCAA hockey season and join the NHL. The Canes will now hold Laffer’s rights in the offseason.

Laffer is currently assigned to the Canes taxi squad.

Ya we are desperate for a backup goalie. I don’t think Lyon is that bad but we’ll see how the new guy works out.

No one really knows, upper body injury that is apparently not a short term injury or a long term injury.

In Chicago, Eetu Makiniemi and Beck Warm are also hurt, the Wolves are now using PTO goalies. Dylan Wells is in Norfolk but he hasn’t been good.
