Feet are everything to a lineman. If you don't have balance, it doesn't matter how long your arms are, you're going to get beat. Greg Little is a perfect example. His footwork was atrocious. Slater has quick feet and short(er) arms but he compensates because his balance is good and his technique is good. I just wish some people understood this.

I said the same thing recently in another thread. Having good feet, balance, and technique are more important for a Tackle. I even used Slater and Joe Thomas as examples

He is a polished turd where Rhule is just a slimly turd. He at least knows how to speak NFL vs Rhule bumbling along.

He took a CB over a QB or franchise LT in the first. The guy he drafted in the 3rd is still a maybe with the time he had on the field this year. He also signed 2 dud free agents the first day of free agency. I wouldn't put too much hope in a Rhule GM. The dude sent the farm for Sam and then picked up his 5th year option. Either he is a yes man or he stinks at his job.

He only looks good next to Rhule and that is not saying much at all. And his trading last year was ass. The only positive about Rhule staying is we can fire both and hire better people next year.

Hard to put much on his shoulders when he doesn't have final say.

A lot of us were hoping that if Rhule stayed Tepper would at least change the power structure.

No such luck.

The same thing the Huddle has been saying about Christensen ( don't move him around so much ) was quoted by Fitterer as one of the reasons why he was put in such a tough situation this year.   Well then WHY THE F*CK DID THE COACHING STAFF KEEP MOVING HIM TO 4 DIFFERENT POSITIONS AS A ROOKIE ??

If was one of the most obvious things that any high school football coach would know.  Yet somehow our NFL coaching staff was oblivious to it.  Including Mr I COACHED THE GIANTS OL Rule.

Just infuriating . . .

Idk if you guys got the feeling or not. But it kinda seems like Scott is separating himself from Rhule. The arm comment plus their body language was completely different. I wonder if Rhule lost roster control.

Am I the only one that thinks BC isn’t built for interior? Maybe it’s just me or maybe if he gained weight, I just don’t see it.

I don't either. This is why he should have been playing all year at LT. Erving sucked at the spot. We would already know what we have. The footwork is different, blocking schemes are different, pulling is involved, weight is different, it's just a different position.

I've screamed to the mountaintops here about my belief in Fitt.  I'm not wavering...  I am certain we got the GM hire right for the first time ever (Polian doesn't count, and fug him).  We also got the related front office hires right (Morgan, Stewart, Sulaiman, etc.). From the program he came from to his analytical-laden answers in pressers and the methodical way he approached the draft and was able to keep trading back and got numerous starters, as far down as the 5th round...  its the same thing they did when building Seattle into a contender.  Kam Chancellor and Sherman were late round picks.  He knows football.  He's smart.

Now, if we could just get rid of the useless slab of clueless lard that is Fhule.

I love hockey. I have season tickets to our WHL club and have great seats right behind the goalie. You can always tell how good a goalie is going to be early in the season by how good their feet are. They can have quick hands, or track the puck well, but if their body is constantly out of position none of that matters. Same is true for offensive linemen. If they have to lean to one side or the other because their feet are slow, or use their reach because they don't move fast enough, a d lineman will rip right past them.

Could free us up for a slight trade down and grab the Iowa center if BC is the plan at LT.

Also, and I know their hands are tied with some questions, but would love for a media member to press more as to why it took so long for BC & Deonte to get on the field. Throw some analytics out about Darnold and press as to why they're making excuses when his numbers, play on the field, etc. show something completely different.  Liked hearing Fitt more than Rhule, but wish their feet would be held to the fire for some of the crap even peon fans like us are screaming about that they seem to not be able to see.

Might be me reading too much into it but I feel like his choice of words, "A lot of people say..." when talking about the arm length was quite interesting. Specifically because that's exactly what Rhule said and Fitt negated it.
