This can be a playoff team next year if we bring Cam back......

Forget all the gadgets, gimicks and quick fixes that have been mentioned that would most likely set  the much needed long term building process  backwards .

The Panthers  need to start bringing in  reinforcements at key positions to build a solid team that will have long term success, instead of trying to throw caution to the wind, just to make the playoffs in 2022 and go one and out.

Agreed and we all know what the first step should be.  Sadly...

It might be worth mentioning again, but I believe Cam was 0-13 in has last 13 starts as a Panthers QB.  Is there any other fan base that would continue to worship a quarterback with this type of record?  "But,but,but-- if we can just make the offensive line stronger, get a new coach, a better defense-- it's not Cam's fault", blah blah blah.

Seriously, the top of this forum has him doing his superman pose and he hasn't won a game as a Panthers starter since before he played for another team.

Was it Cams fault? Blah blah blah. We'd like to hear how much of an elite coach Mike Shula was and how HOF Ron and HOF Hurney as well as our perineal juggernaut offensive line was wasted on a bum like Cam. Go ahead...

The problem is that for the Cam lovers, it's never his fault.

How can you watch Cam for the past 3 years and think, "you know what, we could be playoff team with him next year?"

Quote

how do you stop someone with his size and athleticism who could always pull up and pass it at any moment?

Gee, maybe the same way they've been doing it for years? Play containment, bring pressure, and force him into quick decisions and short / intermediate, accurate throws.

He was 7-8 at New England and was cut (total QBR - 39.4).  Probably bad coaching.

Yeah, um, rather watch Cam with one arm than your Sammy Suck. Besides that was a down year after TB that whole team was being turned around.

When the offense was tailored to Cam by Chudzinsky he set passing records. Sam hasn't set any records. NE offense was tailored to what Brady did we'll. That's good coaching. Most QBs playing aren't in the record books Cam is. You cherry pick the worst stat you can find but the man sets TD records when he's on the field.

Take that garbage out of here and put some respect on that man's name mortal.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
