Players Not Speaking Out Against Rhule

Yeah, I definitely recognize the obvious about players wanting to stay professional, needing to get paid etc.

But in the worst run franchises you'll usually get at least a peep about the coaching, or even see it funneling down to the players criticizing each other.  I didn't get much of that.

I definitely see Rhule has a lot of work to do to even be decent.  I'm just a bit surprised to see these guys behaving so calmly. Especially the vets that have dealt with this for 2 years.

I mean, Person just wrote a pretty damning article with 20 sources inside Carolina.

Cam today basically said from top to bottom they ain’t got the right people in the building right now.

But players know Rhule has a big contract so there is only so much they can say.   They got to stay employed on a profession that has a tiny window.

Fwiw I am sure some of these guys like him. After all we have a bunch of his college players that wouldn't have anywhere else to play if not for him.  Plus it sounds like he genuinely cares about at least some of his players, if not all of em.

Rhule doesn't need to be a bad guy to be a bad coach. It's kinda like with Rivera...

Players generally don’t do this no matter how bad it is…where does this idea come from that they do? It means absolutely nothing. Like Jackson’s comments.

It does not facilitate change. They’re professionals. It would only hurt them in their professional career.

It is no different from your own employment. When is the last time you went ranting around your office about how awful your boss was, even if it was true?

And did so in a fashion other offices/companies/opportunities were also able to take note of your rant and further hurt your future (analogy for other NFL teams)?

I swear some people have no clue how the dynamics in the NFL, coachspeak etc. works…I wonder how the hell are you people able to navigate society?

That said, I wouldn't put him in charge of a lemonade stand, much less something important.

Exactly. Being liked and/or respected, if Rhule is, does not mean a leader is good at job. It also doesn't mean the players/employees are at their best either. The tape and record seemingly speak for themselves in this case, and it appears we'll have no choice but to roll on headlong into year 3.

I respect this answer, I've been a fan of the league (as we all have) for quite some time.

A lot of people in the thread are speaking it as if it's absolutely unheard of for players to voice they're upset with coaching or play calling.  I don't mean to give off the impression that the players normally scream 'off with his head ' at the presser, but normally you'll hear a few sly comments that allude to the players disdain.

Also...this isn't a defense of Rhule at all (which I can tell some are trying to turn it into), just an observation about an abnormally quiet locker room. Did we have a single player only team meeting, heated disagreement, etc. as we've had in the past during down years? (granted I may have missed it, I was a bit more disengaged than usual years lol)
