We have the worst QB room in the NFL and people are still holding a grudge against Fields bc he was a discussed as an option? Strange place.

Holding a grudge against Fields? Don’t take it so personally bro. The irony that I’m highlighting is that one QB is the worst in the NFL and the other is a rookie sensation but statistically you’d have a tough time distinguishing one from the other. I’m making fun of y’all, not Fields. But you’ve proven my point.

You're only making fun of yourself. Sam has the worst passer rating of any of the non rookie starting quarterbacks this season. We don't have any room to talk even about Dalton. But go off.

You kinda hit the nail in the head here, you're just too dense to see it. Rookie. 11th year NFL vet. Not exactly an apples vs. apples comparison. You think the Jags are ready to throw in the towel on Lawrence because he struggled mightily for the majority of the season?

I will because I had to hear why I was an idiot for thinking Trubisky should have been brought in last off-season. Knowing what we know now and what each QB got paid and traded for, we were right to think it. Could not have done worse. Likely would have been better this year and still have draft capital and cap space.

7 of the Steelers' 9 wins this season came on game winning drives. That's unreal.

Panthers this year, despite the roster issues, would have been a playoff team with Tomlin. Some coaches know how to win, others get hired for 7 years and like 70 million by the Panthers.

Could have brought him in and still drafted a quarterback. Anything was better than Walker and Darnold.

Big Ben going to the Playoffs.

I wouldn't mind a Pittsburgh Cinderella story.

Only way they get a Cinderella story is if the NFL carries him to it like they did for Peyton. I don't see it happening, I think the NFL goes all in on getting the Patriots and Bucs, no matter how much fudgery it takes.

Texans rookie QB Davis Mills throws for 301 yards and 3 TD with no INT's in the final game.   Almost pulled off the victory in the second half by rallying his team for 25 points.

Mills was a third round pick.  He could be their QB going forward.

If only the Panthers had competent player scouting like that . . .

Dude has been so impressive this year. That team had no business winning any games this year. They found a gem.

from the Texans message board on Reddit:

"As a fan you have to feel good about moving forward, from just a player performance view. Mills looks like he has grown, defense was solid, Nico Collins could be a break out star next year. With picks and some off season additions the fan base can start finally get excited again"

At least the Texans fans have hope.  The Panthers just have soul-crushing incompetence.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
