"Hi, I'm Steve Beuerlein. I beat Jake in every passing category. Even with lesser talent around me."

Too bad good o' Steve never took us to the NFC Championship game & the Superbowl. :D :D

But I think Jake isn't the same anymore. He was the best QB we ever has on the team: Collins, Beuerlein, etc. couldn't do much as he did. Right now, he is just tumbling. I hope maybe one day he'll be like Warner & rebound back soon. Time will tell.

Jake was more of a product of the guys around him, now he just sucks, whereas Steve was not. Imagine if Steve had what Jake has had around him.

Buerlein never took us to the playoffs so no he not better than jake.
QB doesn't make a team alone. You think Jake helped us win any games this season? No, he would pass for like 9 times and we'd win because we wouldn't let him throw his awful passes.

I beg to differ, your right a individual does not win the game, but a team does. People are way too reluctant to say the qb helped us win, but then say something like, "Dwill won the game today, nobody else lol".

Jake put the game away for us vs the skins, did great in our win vs ATL. You can't just ignore that he helped us win games. If you think Davidson and fox has delhomme on a short lease passing, I would hate to see what they would let Moore or whoever else is at QB do.

Then how did we won the game against San Diego last year? Doubt Rosario did it all by himself. Wasn't the QB is the one who threw the winning pass? I thought so. ;)

Buerline did pretty well considering the Panthers didn't have a running game back then!Imagine if D Williama and J Stewart was on Buerlines team, the offense would be unstoppable!I think if the Panthers had a running game and Defense back then, they would have been playoff contenders!I'll never forgive Seifert for getting rid of Buerline so he can keep the worst QB(jeff lewis) to ever play pro football!

i don't care who did well in the past. it doesn't matter. all that matters is where the team is now, who is helping them win, and making them better in the future. jake doesn't help with any of that. move on. set the bar higher. ask for more. expect more.

Well gee, if it's all about what someone has done in the past, why don't we see if we can get Bart Starr, or Sonny Jurgensen, or Dan Fouts, or Dan Marino, or Elway....well, you get my drift!!

Jake has done some wonderful things for this team, no doubt. His leadership and 'moxey' seemed to make up for some glaring shortcomings in his mechanics, and the team definitely responded to his presence on the field, especially when we had a healthy team to field. That's the rub, the team is NOT responding anymore. Every time he passes, everyone on the team and in the stands seems to hold their collective breath, wondering how it will turn out. Many of us are often reduced to merely being thankful that it wasn't yet another INT!. That's sad, but true.

Jake (and Fox for that matter) have had more than half the season to turn things around. While Jake is not the sole problem confronting this team (special teams certainly deserves a HUGE amount of that blame), as the starting QB, he IS the face for all that is wrong. The 'Cats responded very well to when Fox made the switch from Peete to Jake in '03, the team is owed an opportunity to see how it will play under one of our backup QBs. I believe Moore should get that chance, if nothing else because he has a few years on our roster and thus knows the personnel and system better than Feely does. Let's play out the season with a different QB, and evaluate after the season is over as to what has to be done with the QB position.
