I had not thought about our spot and the teams near us. Yep our pick has a lot less value than in most years. Based on this it would seem trading a player like Cmac, or Burns for draft capital is almost a necessity. We should take BPA at 5 (really best OL or QB) and then hopefully make the best of the picks we can get for trading a player.

There is virtually no justification in hanging onto CMC.  He is an obvious trade candidate given his injury issues and his enormous salary.  Even with his injury issues I still think we could net a 3rd and 5th for him... possibly a 2nd and 4th if we find the right team that's desperate.

Burns is an actual difference maker.  Trading him makes very little sense and would dramatically harm one of the only bright spots we have on the team.

I wonder if packaging the 2 would make someone more likely to take on Cmac's contract?

that would be a heck of a trade.  I think Burns is likely to attract some big spenders, while CMC will attract some bargain hunters.

It all depends on how you look at. Burns is young and talented, especially as a Pass Rusher, but Yetur is Ascending and Luvu is ascending too. Snow can be flexible with his fronts (especially if he can keep Reddick). Burns hasn't been that effective against the run or in coverage so....he might be on the block.

Reddick to me is a 3rd down specialist. Both he and Burns are a little light in the ass. Both being on the field in early downs is a big reason we struggled against power runs. I'd rather keep the non Rhule (and bigger) player.

we should %1000 trade cmac, if possible. Which I don't think is possible yet

Burns is talented but has always been a liability vs run and quite frankly doesn't finish plays(how many qbs have escaped his grasp over 2 years?)

YGM on one side with Reddick might be a better every down combo especially when you consider the draft capital we could aquire.

I wish we had kept Obada for depth.

Burns should get a high 1st round pick. The Falcons got the Patriots 2nd round pick for Sanu and that guy couldn’t even play a season before falling off and he was over 30. I wouldn’t want to trade burns but put some respect on the man’s trade value.

I would rather get multiple picks for him unless we can package another 1.

My goal is offensive and D line unless something unusual just falls in our lap.

I'm pretty torn on the Alabama LT. Not sure he won't have to play right.

If we stay at 5 or 6 it's the Iowa kid or NC State kid for me probably.

If so we have to then find 2 minimum IOL in FA.

Mariota and Trubiski are free agents, which means they would cost us nothing in terms of draft capital or players in a trade.  I still think we will pursue Watson, and we could go after Garappalo--but both will cost a lot.  On the other hand, we could refrain from re-signing expensive veteran CBs, roll with CJ, Horn, Taylor, etc. and sign linemen.  Trade back (if we can) in the draft and add a second rounder.  Draft a LT (that kid from NC State is my favorite LT candidate right now because he is a manchild and has so much upside) and maybe a QB.

Mariota or Trubiski will cost draft capital in comp picks.  I'd roll with Darnold and if Cam wants to be a backup, I'll take him.  Given Darnold's history, Cam should get some opportunities to play.

I see your point, but Gilmore is 32 or so and will be done by the time we get good, and DJax has spent more time on IR than on the active roster.

Agree with you about the staff--but there is going to be an overhaul when we get a new coach in here--so I don't know.

I would trade Burns and CMC right now--but not to give Rhule leverage in the draft.

The only chance Rhule has is for CMC to come back and play well.  There is no one in the draft that will move the needle as much as a healthy CMC.
