Good point, hard to absorb a 4 year break from the 1st round of the draft, but 2001 went a long way towards making up for that.

Well my answer has not the depth you are perhaps looking for but to me personally I would be much happier with my Panthers had this occured:

I`m looking more for a particular move you wish they`d made (or hadn`t). Not so much an outcome.

For example, you might say you wish they hadn`t abandoned the run in that game.

I wish we would have not drafted stewart as the 13th pick and instead draft otah, (2nd or 3rd round back would have sufficed) then we might have a first round pick this year and be able to draft a QB..sh^t we might have even been able to draft freeman last year.

We had got what we could for Peppers(2nd rounder probably) and used the money to keep Hangartner and Omyele and the extra pick to prevent us from having to use our first next year to move up for Brown(we'd have just traded both second rounders). We might still be 4-6 under this scenario, but the future would look a lot brighter.

I wish we had pursued Drew Brees when he became a free agent in 2006. It's not often a player that caliber is an unrestricted free agent. Guess we thought Delhomme was the future at that point.

This is correct. I don't think we'd be all-world if we hadn't made the deal, but our depth wouldn't be laughable without the Peppers-salary-cap-crippling-mortgage-of-the-2009-season.

And yes, it would be nice to have a 1st round draft pick to look forward to.

Well, I haven't read this whole thread, and somebody else has probably already brought it up, but I wish Kerry Collins wouldn't have turned in to a first class dick head when he came here. If he had worked out, who knows how many games this team could have won early on?
