I genuinely wonder what Jerry Richardson is thinking about his team right now.

I don't.

The good son (Jon) passed away. The other one (Mark) was universally hated by everyone who had to work with him.

Tepper is crap, but Mark Richardson wouldn't have been any better.

Would have been WAY more interesting if Diddy and co bought the team

He did a radio interview a while back where he claimed he was the runner up in the final bidding.

it was bullsh-t, of course. He didn't have anything close to the money it would have taken.

I can’t remember why he wouldn’t pass it to his sons. Some kind of falling out, right?

He didn’t actually HAVE to sell did he? He coulda just let his wife or Brenton Bersin take over.

LOL. Brenton Bersin is definitely in his will somewhere.  I’m not sure of all the details but JR and his sons definitely had a falling out.  He didn’t have to sell, but I think after the blue jeans Friday stuff came out he wanted to sell and disappear from the public eye.

I got this story from someone who worked there.

The team was having a year when they were unable to hand out Christmas bonuses or some such. Jon drew some cash from his personal account, gathered the people under him together and gave them hundred dollar bills out of his own pocket. He even told them all he was sorry he couldn't do more.

Well Mark (because he was a pissy little b-tch) complained about it. He said it made him look like an a--hole. Mind you, he already looked like an a--hole, so status quo. But it became a huge deal regardless.

If I remember correctly, Mark still owns some small percentage of the team, but nowhere near what it was.

Jerry Richardson is probably thinking :" I know I made some mistakes by  playing favorites with certain players and trusting Marty Hurney to much but the way Teppers is  allowing that clown, Matt Rhule, to fug up the team I was responsible for bringing to the Carolinas really blows my mind."

Extremely pathetic if that’s true.  Some people just really won’t let anyone have nice things.  I hope Mark doesn’t have anything to do with this team, but after a quick google search, it appears that he does.  Wonderful.

Pretty sure the NFL owners were forcing him to sell. Not just sell, but sell to Tepper. JR had clearly fallen out of favor since Snyder has done as bad or worse and there have been no cries from within the NFL to force him to sell. LOL @ JR. He always out the NFL as a whole above his own team and they still ultimately turned on him.

Still remember when he announced that the scandal would all be handled by an "internal investigation".

I was pretty sure at the time that he fully believed his NFL brethren would cover for him.

Imagine his face when he found out they wouldn't...
