Who do you keep?

Any older defensive players need to go, along with players who are not elite specimen who are looking for a big payday. That means Gilmore and Jackson both need to hit the bricks. Carter can stay for cheap.

No matter how we shuffle the defense next season will be a losing season. At best we'll be starting a rookie QB, and at worst we'll find another veteran QB who other teams don't want. Either way we need to stay young on defense because we're not doing anything next season.

If they draft a QB in this bad QB draft after the complete fug up they've already got to lay with.. Then they are compounding even more BS to a already fuged up situation..

1. I don't want this regime in charge of getting another Qb.. They have their guy and unless it's a FA they shouldn't be in the business of developing another young QB..

2. They should have drafted 1 in this draft which by far was the better QB draft to do it.  If they didn't have anybody but 3 guys rated higher then Sam Darnold in this past draft.. No way in hell should they have any QB in this draft rated high..

3. Usually if you hire a new coach you usually want him to choose his own QB... Why would he want a QB Rhule picked.. Why would you want to attached your new coach to a Rhule pick at the most important position??

Hell no to drafting a QB this year of all years with this QB fuged up opinion having coaching staff...

I wouldn’t mind Gilmore if we can get a good price. I just have a feeling if we lock him down he’s gonna start falling apart. 
 

Carter can go. Backs like Abdullah are a dime a dozen. Wouldn’t mind seeing Zylstra for ST comes back and Marquis Haynes. 

Absolutely correct.  I love Reddick, he's an amazing player, but we need run defense, either him or burns should stay, and burns is under contract, so keep him.  Good thing is hassan will get paid, bad news is it won't be from us.

I just can't agree with this.. The defense usually held up until being sucked of all energy by dumb TO, consistent 3 and outs, and being put in bad field position all game... Only a few game happen when they were beat up in the 1st qrt or 1st half..

You're right that early they held up, but 2nd half we were liquefied even when held at bay first half (Washington game, we grinded the clock and defense didn't do poo).  You need run defense late or teams just grind out the game and our record proves as much.

I think if the offense was Avg. The defense would be better.. I don't think you give up on having 2 good pass rushers who could be elite if the offense scored enough to force teams into being 1 dimensional.. Or at least play better field position by getting better special teams play... you name 1 game .. But let's also admit that was week 11 after having to carry a horrible offense for weeks...
