I hear ya, but if Derrick Brown wasn't ready to make an impact, he was a huge reach in the top 10.  You don't draft a guy that high to wait 3-4 years for him to elevate his play above JAG level.

edit:  Just want to add he was billed as a grown ass man in the draft.

Vea  didn't make a impact his 1st 2 season.. neither did Suh, McCoy , or Williams.. So temper your expectations based on position.. Most DT take time no matter how high  you draft them.. And We have like 4 DT under the age 25 .. This doesn't seem like a need to add more it seem like a need to be patient and develop them..

That's just flat out wrong.  Vea was a force in 2019 and he only played 5 games last year due to injury.  The Bucs have been stout up front when he's on the field.  Suh had 10 sacks and made the pro bowl his first season.  The dude was a monster immediately.

Vea is a NT in a 3-4 system.  He soaks up 2 guys and put up those stats.  Derrick Brown has a dude next to him and doesn't command double teams ever.  There's a huge difference in what's happening on the field.

You said he was a force and he has nearly Identical stats with Brown.. Now you're making excuses for changes in defense.. And the double team thing really??

Beyond this we still have 4 DT under age 25 . That doesn't seem like a need or more something we should be using more assets on When Hopefully more development and better coaching could be the answer..
