Do you have reading comprehension problems.

I will write slow.

There are only a handful of QBs in the league right now that can win it. For us to get one would cost us too much to be able fix the line so they can do their job.

We already have Sam for next year we are not trading his cap hit.

Either he crashes and burns and we get the number 1 pick or a miracle happens and he turns into Steve Young. Both scenarios help us.

What doesn’t help us is.

Goff, Garappolo, Mariota, Tyrod, Huntley, White Fitz ETC.

Again, until you luck into a once every 20 year type QB…..building a team that can consistently make the playoffs is what football is about.    There aren’t 14 Aaron Rodgers each year leading teams to the playoffs.  And he has 1 ring despite being the best pure and most talented QB over the last decade.

QB play matters.  OL play matters.  Coaching matters.  Building a winning team matters.  Getting to the post season matters.

so again, you said you would rather have Sam and lose than consistently win and go to the postseason pending you didn’t have an Aaron Rodgers type QB.  That makes no sense.

I want a winning org.  A winning team.  Get that and we can nitpick ourselves to make us better.  You can’t just be on a never ending search for an Aaron Rodgers and be content with losing until then.  You could lose for 20 years with that mindset.

If you consistently make the postseason year in and year out…you then have odds of actually winning.    College and pros.  You want a championship? Find a coach that can consistently get you to the postseason over and over.

so yeah, I’ll take consistently going to the postseason as better than….Sam Darnold sucking.  Those were the two options given.  It’s an easy pick.

I mean if you have a meh QB like Eli Manning and keep going to the playoffs  over and over? Well, luck and opportunity for good things sometimes happen.  Not that Eli is the goal.  But until you can find your ideal QB …..not sucking and winning is the goal.

We already made this mistake with Teddy.

The smart move was to start Will Grier and Tank for Lawrence.

Either Grier blooms or we get Trevor.

We now have a chance to correct that mistake.

no guarantee you get Lawrence if you attempt to tank.

and again, you said you would prefer to ride with Sam vs go to the postseason consistently without an Aaron Rodgers type.    What happened with the Giants when they went to the postseason 5 out of 7 seasons with meh Eli Manning?  Well, they had opportunity for good things to fall their way.

you still want to find an Aaron Rodgers.  But you can’t just tank for a decade and do that until you land a Aaron Rodgers.  Hardly anyone pulls off one of those rare QBs.

Yes Sam for 1 do or die year.

Not 7 years.

Either he gets us the 1st pick after next season or he turns into a legit top 10 QB.

Anything less than a top 10 QB and he's cut.

Same thing I wanted to do with Grier.

If we win a Superbowl we could have 20 straight 0-17 seasons and I would never complain.

I never criticize the Canes because they have a cup.

I want one Superbowl before I die.

Find a HC that can get you consistently into the playoffs then.   That’s the best odds for a ring.    Then it comes down to merely having a good 2-3 games.   Anyone can beat anyone in the NFL or have small runs.   Saints suck and just abused Tampa.   And you see that happen in the playoffs too.   See our Super Bowl.   We easily should of won on a paper.

There is no Peyton Manning to be tanking for.  And if there was….he might be Ryan Leaf.   Best player in a tank year might be a OT.  You still just have Sam at QB.

lol.  Sam Darnold isn’t turning into a top 10 QB.   Maybe we roll with  PJ.  Maybe he never maintains his streak of never losing a pro game.   I mean, if Sam can be an elite QB then we can say PJ might never lose.

Sam and Rhule need to go.  They don’t belong on the field.  And you don’t need to pay all that money to tank a team.  Rhule and Sam tanked us while trying to win lol

It's our only chance. This year's class sucks.

Pickett, Howell? Man not sure about that.

Our only chance is a 2023 stud falling into our lap.

Happy Holidays.  I’m out.  Got to get cleaned up as folks will be rolling in.

Merry Christmas and remember….Santa only comes to good boys and girls who know that Matt Rhule and Sam Darnold are both trash that should be gone at the end of the year.

We were cheated out of Both Superbowls.

Even with the cheating if Kasay doesn't choke we win.

Sam's just a vessel.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
