s.Cam Newton has now lost 12 consecutive starts as Panthers QB. I guess wins don't matter if you're a minority QB.

and yet inbetween that….Cam won 7 games with the Patriots with what was the worst roster in all of the NFL last year.

but NE has good coaching.   The problem right now isn’t Cam.  It’s Matt Rhule’s created shitshow.

But for some reason Bellicheck decided to move on.  Maybe he realizes this is a passing league and Cam is not a good passer.

Yeah, because to an extent they are rebuilding the offense.  Cam isn’t a long term add.   They drafted a first round.  And yeah, Cam is too big of a personality for a young QB to deal with.  That’s not a knock on Cam.

He's not a HOF QB.

Nowhere close to being a good enough passer plus zero rings.

He has better passing numbers than some HoF Qbs have and he has an MVP, plus he is the biggest rushing threat at QB the game has ever seen.

Im not saying he is a 100% lock, but he has a chance.

Cam Newton is a good quarterback but is he Hall of Fame worthy? That is a great question that will only be answered in time.

There’s no debating that Cam was a good quarterback because he was. Not only was he a good passer, even though he often had problems being accurate, but he really frustrated defenses with his legs, rushing for over 500 yards in six of his first seven seasons.

He was a lot of fun to watch, but with his career winding down, many of us on the Huddle are now asking the famous question — " Is he good enough to get into the Hall of Fame someday?"

For one, it’s not the end all, be all, but championships talk, especially for quarterbacks, and Cam has zero on his professional resumé. He led the Panthers to Super Bowl 50 in the 2015 season but they lost to the Broncos and he was heavily criticized for not diving on a loose fumble, which proved costly.

Secondly, Cam's numbers aren’t all that impressive in all honestly. He’s only thrown for more than 25 touchdowns once in his career and he did so in the 2015 season where he threw 35 touchdowns and rushed for another 10 . He won the league MVP in 2015 for his efforts and he definitely deserved it, but that was the only season where his numbers really popped.

Third, as good as Cam was in his MVP season, he didn’t even throw for 4,000 yards that year and only threw for 4,000 yards just once (2011, his rookie season). He’s also had double-digit interceptions in every season except for 2019 and he only started two games that year.

There is no doubting that Cam is a talented player and was a big name when he was playing at a high-level in the NFL, but when it comes time to discuss if he belongs in the Hall of Fame or not, that will remain to be seen by those doing the final selection..

I think he went with who he thinks is the best quarterback now.  Cam was a force early on before he got beat up, but he is not a good passer.  Consistent accuracy has always been an issue and always will be and now with diminishing arm strength it is even worse.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
