How is this possible?

I guess I always took it for granted that teams know their personel and what happens if a kicker gets injured.

Apparently we had never even addressed it. Tall about a poo show.

If this is true, WTF! What happened Rhule’s “positionless player” bullish!t?

It’s hard to have a “next man up” mentality when the coaching staff doesn’t know who the next man is, and in this case they don’t even know IF they have a next man. This is some bad news bears type poo. Totally embarrassing and if if we’re Tepper I would find this one event totally unacceptable as a professional coach.

In Chase's defense, he hadn't been able to train up a placekicker until we got Gonzalez this year. I thought we were going to get to the point where we were going to have to call a Grammatica at some point.

Chase apparently teaches guys how to run down the field on ST.

That's it.

No kicking improvement. No punting training. No tackling. Not much on blocking.

Why is he our ST coach again? Continuity?

Maybe because we are fans of seemingly the only team in NFL history to give two kickers a jersey on game days. The kicker (Kasay) and then the kickoff specialist (Lloyd). So we are used to being spoiled on that front.

Hey genius. How many football games have you watched, and how many times has this happened. If you post like it’s a general occurrence to fit your fire Rhule narrative, fine. Say that. You have a punter who is punter specific, it’s the risk you run. Deal with it.

There is one kicker per team (or punter, for that matter). It's not rocket science to think that it's a good idea to spend 15 minutes at practice one day to have a backup plan in place should that person not be able to fulfill their duties at any time for any reason. Hell, most teams have at least 3 QBs on their roster and still know who their emergency QB would be if all 3 go down.
