Currently sitting at #8 in draft order...who should we pick?

If we can’t get Neal… as much as it pains me to say this as a Carolina fan, the kid from State.

We spent all day talking about how our QB’s have no time to throw… Ekwonu fixes that.

If we draft this kid then we need fire Matt Rhule because it’s said that his arm length is average (no official measurements).

Unless we get Watson in the offseason, it’s gonna be a QB.

Just accept it

Fine with me so long as the rookie can sit behind Darnold.

Tank, have all picks, go oline 2023 and rest of 2022, preserve cap and start new QB 2023 with a new coach.

Or go all oline, lame duck Rhule/Sam season, draft QB 2023.

With a little sacrifice it will work out. Keep trying to find short cuts and cheat codes trading away the future, and we stay put.

That’s literally worst case scenario

We aren’t there?

An oline isn’t fixed in one off-season even with a new coach, all these things take time, should’ve been addressed long ago.

What other options are there?

It’s not worst case scenario it’s how a team rebuilds day 1 scenario, but the idiot staff choice not to do the inevitable day 1 as if it doesn’t have to be done.

But it does and it will.

Bottom line is the organization fugged up countless years in a row. This entire draft needs to be OL and we need to forget about being competitive next year. Build the OL up, let Darnold, Trubisky, Mariota or some other journeymen QB lead us to a top five pick, and draft your QB of the future in Stroud or Young while continuing to build up the OL with the remainder of the picks.

Picking a QB does nothing for us next year. If you truly believe a rookie QB, whether it’s Pickett, Howell, Willis, Corral, etc. would survive behind our OL then I have some beachfront property in Kansas that I want to talk to you about.

The guy could be headed to his third consecutive All-Pro team and you'd still be screaming overrated. 😂

He could be a complete bust and you will still be making excuses for him.    See how that works.   It’s funny that you think you are smarter then all the nfl insiders, scouts and teams.    Howell is just not viewed as high as you think he should be.   It’s like that dude last year who had the hard on for trask.

The sad thing is that picking a QB in this years draft would have been a solid option if this organization had any idea how to build a roster.

We had a chance to end up with both Wirfs and Slater and ended up with Brown and Horn.

Instead, our organization thought that the reason that we sucked was because of Bridgewater and gave up draft capital for Sam fugging Darnold while completely ignoring the OL position.

You can’t make this poo up.

Couldn’t agree more. Will add 2023 for qb option as well, one that could start right away.

2 problems with continuing with cam (or anyone else besides sam)

He is better than anything we have but no good enough. So he may be the difference between a top pick and a #10-16 pick. Very important this does not happen.

Secondly, he or anyone else is I’ll cost more resources and sam is already paid. No need to dig further in the hole. Leave the cap and picks alone.

People don’t like this mode, though the blueprint for success, because as fans we want to win and this basically equates to throwing poo out there. But it’s a necessary process that needs to happen.

If you want to sign a FA qb in 2023 for competition or mentorship, that’s the time to do it with picks, rookie qb, cap and god willing a new coach.

    • Unlikely, UNC fans don’t even care that Mack has owned Duke because at the end of the day it’s about winning the ACC, not beating Duke. If your only focus is on beating your rival then you’ll end up content year after year like NCSU fans. Now if we were a playoff contender then I’d definitely be upset but this is just a bad UNC team that can’t be saved by Sam Howell or Drake Maye.
    • The way to beat this Bengals team is  physically: power running and ball control. You're not going to out-air them. There was a game last year where the ravens tried and burrow  readily out-dueled jackson. They have too many weapons. I believe Higgins returns this week. They're also down Trent Brown so Mims will see his first start. This game will tell us whether or not our O-line is legit.
    • Everyone knows I dislike UNC (their basketball program; love their academics) but they are really doing a disservice as a football program. I’ve always thought them to be a potential sleeping giant and stand by the concept that they can be dominant in football or basketball. Not both simultaneously.   UNC will reach a crossroads when they enter the SEC where they may have to choose. There’s no reason why UNC can’t be competitive in the SEC in football but it may come as a cost to the relevancy of their basketball program. They’ll either be Kentucky 2.0 or reverse prioritize their programs ala Auburn.    It’s no secret the SEC wants to secure the Carolinas and their markets.
