The Injury bug excuse cannot be used this season.....

I keep hearing folks bring up injuries as an excuse, but it cant fly this season...

DT-- EVERYONE and their grandma new we needed depth at this position= FO FAULT

LB'r-- Our Deepest position= Coaches have to have the BU's ready to play

WR-- We have good depth= Coaches again, if they cannot play in the NFL why are they on the roster?

OL-- Ok Depth= The FO let every capable/tested BU walk in FA

DE-- $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

S- Martin has played very well considering his lack of experience= nothing to bitch about....

So overall the injury bug is a sad excuse. Its called PISS POOR planning by the FO and a lack of coaching to have BU's ready to play.

You keep hearing Fox talk about needing time for this, and time for that, well we are going into week 12.

That should explain it all...

You can't say they let our BU OL walk in FA. No way should we be paying a backup OL starting money when you know that's what they went to do. Just shows how good of OL depth we had last year.

ok-- what was the numbers then?

What about strip club boy we let walk?

We COULD have kept SOMEONE if we had not cash strapped ourselves with Pep.....

You sound as though you think the OL isn't performing well. Awful hard to justify that when the team is 3rd in the league running despite routinely facing 8 man fronts. We are below average in sacks allowed but a bigger reason for that is Jake deciding to hold the ball tyoo damn long IMO. Letting our backups from last year go rather than try to match that money was the right decision. FO fault on the DL? Who was it you wanted us to chase? Good depth at WR? LOFL!

Injuries should never be an excuse IMO. You saw what the Pats did last year WITHOUT Tom Brady. Injuries have only held this team back one season...when our QB situation was a revolving door or busted draft picks and geezers off the street.

Not being able to recover from injured players means you have an ill-equipped team that relies on talent more than coaching. Learn to prepare able backups and you'll be successful in this league.

No Im not- You are missing my point.

I have tried to just list ALL the positions that we have had injuries at. Thats all.

And you actually made my case for me.

Fox will use Gross as an excuse though-

But we didnt look to damn good on the OL last Thursday.

my POINT that you FAIL to see is;

Fox and the FO has ALWAYS been REACTIVE

except for a few positions in recent years we have always had to be reactive to adding depth to our roster.

LOOK AT RECENT YEARS-

QB

DT

RB

WR

OL

Kind of the skill positions that win games....

OOHH I get it. We should pay everybody starter pay to keep them. I guess we'll just find new ways to cheat to get by the cap.

no- but good teams find a way to keep new fresh talent and cut off the huge salary cap killers.

Look at the Pats- they have no problem cutting vets to save $$$ and they still stay competitive.

A lot of our issues are QB, but we should not have to always be reactive when it comes to player depth.

even w/ a crap QB and the handicap Pep put on the team....the only reason we have a losing record is poor coaching. Nothing more.

    • What's wrong with what he wants to do? Going to the wrong organization can ruin your career. Many of you would do the same if you could dor your son's.
    • I think they should just end the drama and tell him he's playing for his next team. Full stop. This week to week "do they, don't they", "will they, won't they" stuff is crazy.  Maybe Shanahan will trade one of their 3rds for him rather than pay Purdy the big dollars--he's certainly on the list of coaches I think would say, "They're just not using him right". Plus Lynch already knows the Panthers' price list. Bryce can head back home to California and Carolina can continue its neverending quest to replace Cam.
