He definitely has the ability, but his playing style worries me for his size. He takes hits to extend drives and seems to sacrifice his body on too many plays. His arm and athletic ability are impressive though!

I think that is an area of growth for QB's... to learn to put the heart aside and slide rather than take the big hits fighting for yards every play.

That’s fair. He just incorporates in more than others into his playing style. He has proven he is coachable by his growth this year.

In terms of the running the ball, he had to do a lot on his own this year. 11 rushing TD's. He's a lot like the guy people love riding here, Sam Howell in terms losing guys this year. Corral had to play without 2 of his top WR's and both his top TE's (injuries rather than Howells losing skill players to draft). No excuses IMO though. Just like should be no excuse for injuries... next man up. On a well coached team that is.

Biggest thing he improved on was decision making

Draft a LT this year in a loaded class and then a QB in 2023:

1. Bryce Young

2. Cj Stroud

3. Anthony Richardson

4. Haynes King

5. Dj Uiagalelei

6. Grayson McCall

7. Spencer Rattler

8. Tanner Mckee

9. Tyler Van Dyke

10. Kj Jefferson

11. Jayden Daniels

12. Phil Jurkovec

Arguably the best class I have seen in a long, long time.

That is the best case scenario; however, I think Tepper is too impatient and if Rhule stays, then it's certain we will force the issue at QB?

So is any of the above names better than Corral? I don’t know so it is a genuine question. I’ve seen some of Rattler and Uigalelei and it wasn’t pretty. Rattler was benched.

I do love the idea of going for a stud LT and keep Cam for another year, but if Corral is there isn’t he at the level of anyone on that list? And I’m not looking at a side-by-side numbers comparison as most QBs on your list play in stacked teams.

That’s the thing, there is no telling. Howell and Rattler were suppose to top this class. Tua was looking similar to Young early in his college career. It’s a bit of a crap shoot.

That’s my thinking. If Corral is there, can we afford to not take him? I’d love a LT, but he might be too good to pass up.

I agree however, it would suck if its 2021 draft all over again... picking high enough to select a QB, but not high enough to select the QB we (our staff) wants.

Ultimately after Bryce and CJ, I think any of those guys can have a spencer rattler type dropoff/regression.

But I get the logic in it 100%. Just looking at all possible outcomes ya know.

I mean Bryce Young was the best QB in college this season but he did have a great supporting cast and there are going to be questions about his size.

The rest of those guys are very questionable IMO

Somebody will pick Sam Howell after some other QBs go but he will surprise.

He could possibly drop to mid second or later and will be a steal there.  He has a lot of upside, plenty of arm and good athleticism.  He has an it factor and walked onto the UNC campus and made plays from day 1.  He will be good in a good situation
