it often is overlooked how much the refs dictated that SB.   Narrative on Ron could be drastically different.  Yet nothing about Ron would have actually been any different.  Ref just would have called the illegal bats illegal, called the head shots, called the catch a catch, etc.

Phenomenal season. More Cam than Rivera though if you ask me. I honestly believe Cam's peak in that 2015 season is one of the greatest all time QB seasons ever, he literally carried trash around him on offense to the SB and being the best offense in the league. I take that season from Cam over any single season from Tom Brady in his entire career -- even his MVP seasons he had elite OLs/weapons and coaching. Cam's success in 2015 was as single-handed as it can get in this sport. 

And Rivera's shortcomings in adjusting were a large reason we lost the SB. Refs were bad but we also got mostly handled by a much lesser team. Even if we win that year I don't think it changes the narrative all that much, there have been other SB winning HCs who are widely regarded as not being that great. Reality is, Rivera had 3 good seasons here out of 9, never had back to back winning seasons and was on the downtrend at the end.

Don't disagree, and my statement applies double to Cam.  

Everyone and thing stays the same....refs call the illegal bats, headshots and catches? Cam already a HOF lock.   Narrative on him is different too.  Yet nothing actually is different at all about Cam.

during this past offseason I went back and watched some games from '15, our defense made things a lot easier that year on our offense with short fields

no dig at Cam though, he still had to get the ball in the endzone

That's really the bottom line.  Three winning seasons with the best QB in franchise history and the greatest MLB to ever play the game.

Rivera was terrible. Rhule isn’t any better but I’d rather at least try. Same situation as with Gano. He wasn’t good enough and had to go. We had to go through Slye to get to Gonzalez.

Ron is a good dude but still is stuck in the 1980's in the mindset of a head coach

Rivera is an average coach that brings stability.  That's it.  John Fox is much the same.  Ron was carried by all world talents like Cam and Luke.  Also by McDermott. He coached like it was the 80s.   Was bad at talent evaluation.  He was one of the worst game day coaches I've seen.   Terrible clock and time management.   Rhule is like a worse Rivera.  We need to move on from these type of coaches.

We always bitched about Ron getting outcoached when he was in Charlotte.

Then he takes the helm of one of the most toxic franchises in professional sports and does everything but stroll across the field and personally bitch-slap Matt Rhule.
