I know some people think that Rhule is guaranteed another season but that Schiano lost the Bucs and coached like he was still in college. Just like Rhule. Guy only lasted 2 seasons.

It’s funny to hear people talking like they know what a billionaire will do his money. Ruhle is not guaranteed next season. Forget whatever his contract says.

I'm pretty sure Arians had a little bit of input in that.  Do you think some green college coach would have had the clout to make that happen?

I think Brady basically got to pick where he wanted to go and it wasn't like a QB-less team was gonna say no. Arians is not a great coach. Not a terrible coach but some pretty big flaws and mainly regarding QB's. Brady solved his biggest weakness.

Again, I doubt Brady would have "picked" Tampa if say, a Matt Rhule-type of HC was there.  Way over simplifying it, man.  Is Arians a great coach?  Nope. Is he head and shoulders above what we have here?  Abso-freaking-lutely!

Don't use Rhule as a bar for good coaching. You can accidentally trip over that bar.

LOl...that was funny!  My point being Brady had his pick of places, sure, but he was going to pick a place that had a competent, proven staff.  That said, the Panthers were never an option.

It was the combination of various factors but I agree that they had a much better situation in Tampa than we had.

I don't think Brady would have followed Joe Judge either.

    • In last 25 years I’d say the 2001 Panthers were 1-15 & went to Super Bowl 38 in 2003. Drafted Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins and Steve Smith in ‘01…already had Moose, Minter and Rucker.  ‘02 drafted Peppers Deshaun Foster. Picked up Stephen Davis Ricky Proehl and Jake Delhomme in the following ‘03 offseason while drafting Jordan Gross & Ricky Manning Jr.  John Fox was a solid coaching hire for the era prior to defensive rule changes. Saying I’ve seen it happen, also acknowledging how much has to go right for that to occur.  Highly unlikely scenario but possible.
    • Agree it was a bad loss, but there were only 45 states the last time that defense gave up that many to Vandy. 35 points has been enough to beat them for almost 120 years. That said I'm now focused on how he responds on the field. He's said all the right things, but now I need to see that he won't go into the fetal position with his play--both in his will and the coach's trust in him. He turned the ball over on the ground and through the air and his pick six was literally the difference between a win and loss.  If he goes back to beast mode, then all is good and he's still a 1st rounder. If he wills them back to the playoff, he's probably in the top 10-15. If they win the title, the bigger question will be if Tep has the onions to take another Bama QB at #1.
    • Go right ahead, but there's a better way to be that doesn't add to the hostility in the world.
