Well if Rhule is saying "get it done" then we were getting fleeced regardless of what he'd have done or not done without Rhule having the power. We got fleeced now in hindsight for sure.

Yeah, unfortunately we have no idea how it all went down. I HOPE it was Rhule pushing to get him and Fitt having to reluctantly overpay. That's the best case scenario. Same with the 5th year option.

If not.....oof. But, he has also made some pretty shrewd acquisitions as well. It's at best and worst a mixed bag.

The way I see it is during the season Fitts is off doing his thing with the other scouts and such and those have been pretty good. You can't say Henderson is poo he has been just as good(or bad) as any secondary member not named Gilmore and he did pick up Gilmore for free so...

The draft/FA has been mixed as well though with guys like Reddick(could you imagine this defense without Reddick) but mostly negative atm I think because the draft now looks atrocious unless Horn comes out and is the next Gilmore or something to salvage it. Well those late round DTs looking ok...better than our top fuging 10 pick...yikes.

Cam was terrible yesterday as was PJ and not much different from Sam. But all IMO get somewhat of a pass until we get an offensive line. We need top of the line free agents and First and 2nd round talent in the draft.   How can you expect any QB to operate when the defensive line are 2 feet away from you on every throw.  How many blocked passes did we see yesterday.  Some of it is on Cam but damn the offensive line was getting pushed around all freaking day.

I would also say a new OC  I sit here and watch other teams that may have worse offensive lines still be productive.  Yeah I get it that is was a limited playbook for Cam but there is no way we can continue with easy diagnosed plays. Our offensive coordinator doesn't know how to scheme against an opponent.   I truly don't believe he studies as much as he should.  Rhule stands by him and that is part of his problem.

Atlanta is our last chance at a W and honestly I don't see us winning anymore games this season.

If we lose out.  Fitterer stays and the rest hit the road.

Fitterer can go too. These in-season deals and trades have set us back. Drafting Horn was a mistake, as was drafting Marshall. Surtain has been lockdown and healthy. Rhule is too worried about slowly bringing along this acquired talent. The fact Gilmore isn't out there on every single snap is insane when we have an all pro player. bUt He HaS tO lEaRn ThE sYsTeM. WHAT SYSTEM!? THE DEFENSE IS GARBAGE. FIND THEIR NUMBER ONE GUY AND LOCK DOWN, THAT'S IT. Dan Arnold would have done Cam some good. CJ Henderson is a joke. Continuining to start Dennis Daley at LT is a joke. Going into the season with this offensive line thinking it was going to be sufficient is a joke. Rhule is a Joke. Fitterer paying Darnold a 5th year, fuging joke. Tepper can move this team whenever he wants to, it'll happen when the stadium deal falls through.

I think a LOT of this will have to be hindsight evaluation when Rhule and Co. are gone. It's a coin flip on poor initial evaluation/scouting vs. poor development/coaching ATM.

I am VERY curious to see if Tepper pulls the plug on the staff this offseason. I think we are already seeing signs of the team quitting or the staff messages not really resonating. I think if we had a lot more veteran presence on the team, some of this would be more readily visible.

Agreed. What I think may be happening in that regard is a split locker room. Lots of guys owe Rhule their job an salary for that matter and the nepotism thing may be creeping in with people seeing that. The guys from other teams clearly see that the Offense is poo and the defensive players are now fed up regardless of what they say.

Body language speaks always has its literally evolution you can't hide from it or silence it in the moment/heat of battle.

From the beginning of the season, opposing defenses have gone on record saying they knew exactly what was coming. Some sited "babying" Sam as the reason. Now all of a sudden, it's because Cam doesn't know the playbook 100%. Brady is awful, Rhule isn't any better.

Yeah, we are seeing the same poo across two seasons and 4 different QB's now. I think the answer is obviously the offense is not NFL caliber. Doesn't mean this assembly of QB's has been adequate.

The common thread? Matt Rhule chose all of this.

From Robby, to Reddick to Burns....the angst is obvious. Two of those three are Rhule's boys too. That speaks volumes.

Well hell yea Robby not so low key called out the offense a long time ago. He wasn't even shitting on Darnold until later he first named the offense.

He is the second offensive player to out us on some simple poo. Plus all the quotes you hear about how easy we are to defend.

We are probably a complete joke behind closed doors in the NFL.

There is no doubt at all. I mean the defense watching film on us have to just be like "career day"

The offense watching our defense too though. "Throw it to DJax" now that Rivera done exposed him.
Many people have had career days against us this year and that was already something the Panthers were well known for. We have turned that bitch up and just letting any ole Joe have a good one on us.

    • Philly's defense is great and they run the ball a lot and control the TOP (and they certainly will vs us - this is a big mismatch), so even if Bryce is at his best, I doubt he would have a chance to crack 300 passing yards.  Be damn impressive if he does though, but it all just depends on volume, efficiency, and most importantly... not turning the ball over.
    • Even with Cam I don't think it would have been a hard sell. He always loomed larger than life, but most people that understand football understand the reality of the game. One wrong hit, one wrong step, and a career can be over. It's the thing I've been frustrated about most with every GM we've ever had, including Morgan to this point. We never really developed the QB room. We relied on our starters and when Jake and Cam fell apart, so did the franchise. That's the one position that you can't really afford not to develop a plan B, but we do it with regularity. Dalton wasn't supposed to be a serious threat to Bryce's job and Jack was never a threat to be anything at all. JMO, but we should always have a young guy we're trying to keep on the bench with at least 2 years in the system. If they're not getting it, move on, but always keep rotating guys through. It seems like 2-3 years really is the magic point for QBs to either get a handle or not. It's probably not going to happen, but I'd really like to see that 3rd QB emergency slot become a permanent place to work on developing young QBs. I think it could benefit every team in the league because it's so hard to carry 3 QBs on the roster with all the turn over during the season due to injuries.
    • Agreed which is why I mentioned it and framed it as being certainly an eat crow moment for a lot of people myself included. I'd love to see him shock the league like that. I think the direction the conversation went immediately after is a prime example of how the topic of Bryce Young in general has become so bitter and contentious. The fanbase is split between people who want to see him look like a first overall pick over the course of multiple starts and not just against inferior defenses and people who apparently have low expectations and are just fine with him not looking horrific. But that's not how the NFL works and that's not why we drafted him.
