We are seeing the end of Cam's career

Nice burn bro.  Two undefeated seasons in a row, so maybe I will stick to flag.  Btw, what do you coach? Your Madden football franchise doesn't count. Cam has had many chances in his career. He's washed. Too bad you're too blind to see it. If Sam Darnold had that same performance, I'm sure you wouldn't be making the same excuses as you are for Cam.

Haha well, genuinely, congrats. That is fun. I’ll probably coach at some point as I played college football, but haven’t yet.   “Cam has had many chances in his career” - yeah he was an MVP with Devin Funchess as his best WR.   He contributed two TD’s three days after having sat on the couch.  He subsequently had a pretty good game against his former coach, followed by a game where everyone on the team, including Cam, played poorly.   If Sam Darnold ever sniffs the same air Cam has played at, he’ll deserve the benefit of the doubt (along with if he had no offseason and was brought off the street midseason).   Maybe just sit back and try to root for the best QB (and player along with Keuchly) that the Panthers have ever had.

Didn't you say Heinicke was worthless when he was here?

Heinicke actually didn't look bad here we simply chose the wrong qb like we always have. Will Grier never should have been drafted but stuck around bc of that for too long. But even with Heinicke rn what we are seeing is a small sample size. Are you arguing he is going to be a great qb? If so look into your crystal ball and tell us when we will have our own next franchise qb.

Until the Panthers get a decent offensive line any QB will look bad. We have people on the Huddle claiming Cam Newton is great and Sam Darnold is terrible, the truth lies somewhere in between.

Did you see the throw he made Monday that went off the recievers hands and got picked? Not very many guys can make that throw.

I think he has the potential to be almost Jake. And if we got rid of almost Jake than that is just inexcusable.

Did you see the mic'd up on YouTube with him vs Tampa?

I agree about the oline but if we can adequately correct C and LT and get a real NFL caliber offensive coordinator that will go a loooong ways in reestablishing our offense. This stuff about Cam is so boring. There might be 2 or 3 fans who think he is truly above reproach. Everyone else sees the signing for what it is and people sitting around crowing that Darnold got unfair treatment while Cam isn't getting criticized just sound like goofballs. Most commentary here and other places pretty clearly lay out if he has another bad game or two like that it's pretty much spelling the end of the road. We knew this was a live in the moment longshot when we brought him back in under these poor circumstances.

Why does any of it matter? Do you have a DeLorean time machine in your backyard that we can use to correct our mistake? If he turns into a franchise qb for WFT good for them. Has nothing to do with us beyond showing how inept our management is.

If i remember correctly, the knock on Heinicke  when he was here was that he was a little frail and  injury prone. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it appears the Panthers made another mistake letting him go.

Bear with me because I am trying to hold onto any sense of delusional hope and fantasy I have left.

My point is.. What if Sam winds up like Taylor and we jettison him too soon?

If we are going to eat dead Cap anyway try one last shot.

Darnold will get another look at some point but their circumstances are quite different. We have three and a half seasons of game tape of Darnold looking like the qb he has since college. Is there a slim chance he could turn it around and become a franchise qb? I suppose. But the odds are about the same that one of us will hit the Powerball this week. But even if we can overlook his deficiencies as a signal caller I have serious doubts about his ability to inspire confidence in his teammates as the defacto leader of that group. Everyone has some bad games here and there you can't win them all but his final start is about as dejected a Panthers offensive group as I've ever seen. He isn't a bad teammate but he seems averse to natural leadership and the little interaction we saw with Robby A after throwing an ugly picksix is indicative of that.
