Did I dream that...damn 🤦‍♂️

How about benching a few guys?!?

Well we try that too but the bench guys are on the bench for a reason.

I am not too concerned about the WTF's game. I will be concerned if the defense shits the bed again this Sunday. Otherwise, just a throw away game where not much worked out for us.

I would be interested to hear someone who actually knows the game break down the specific issues with the defensive struggle vs specific teams.

I'm not interested in emotion. I'm talking about a real analysis from a real coach or former player. We don't have that anywhere.

I suspect Thomas Davis will on Panthers Huddle…it’s on in Raleigh on Saturday nights around 7pm, depending on the finish of the preceding college game

Thomas is well worth making the time to here…rest Of the show is pablum.

A lot of times when a defense is getting gashed in the running game it’s not just about effort or having bigger players, it’s about discipline.

Gap responsibility and doing your assignment is paramount and my guess is this is why you are hearing all of these comments about leadership needing to hold people accountable.

I am wondering if the Panthers inability to stop the Washington running attack was due to poor gap control or the fact that the team is lacking in talent when they face teams that play a smash mouth running game? I hope the answer is the first, not the latter, or else we are in trouble..

I think Daviyon Nixon was playing some underrated DT before he got injured, Phil Hoskins still isn't up to speed so you're left with Bravvion-Rex as your only rotational DT

We are 6th in the league in points allowed, but by all means lets go to big boy ball so we stop the few teams that run on us but then we can complain that we can't stop 75% of the teams that throw on us.

Don't get me wrong, its never a bad idea to add talent, my point earlier is often when a team has sucess running on you its not just because your players aren't "big enough", often players are following their assignments.

Personally I think this is why there has been all this chatter of leaders have to hold people accountable.

I'm speaking of the personell to run 3-4. How they are usually tweeners and hybrid guys. Undersized specialists.

If a throwing team knows you're not good at countering zone blocks, they will feed you a healthy dose until you stop it and throw in you too.

If they decide to put one of their 300lb lineman on your 240-50lb LB, that physical advantage opens up the gaps the RB can then pick and choose.

I see your point but bigger stronger faster always wins the battles in the long run.

Of course bigger, stronger, and faster always wins, but in reality when you go bigger and stronger you end up slower.
Maybe our defense gets better against the run but worse against the pass.  Maybe instead of being 6th in points allowed we become 16th.
