Hardest thing to rehab in a QB is confidence. It's why I was not excited about the trade from the beginning. We don't have a Oline full of vets he can lean on. Teddy Bridgewater does the exact same thing and caught a lot less poo for it. Of you're going to rehab broken QBs it's best to have strong leadership on the line and at the WR level. Guys that have extreme confidence in their ability. We don't have that yet. Quite frankly we needed Cams confidence for our offense to gain any and that's a perfect example of weaknesses else where. This team needs a Vet to come in and say we are the best on the field. Not a once broken QB who is trying to find his place.

PJ would be cheap and he's better than Darnold. I've never been a fan of factoring sunk costs into decision making processes.

it was a good idea. just not the best situation to be put into. like david carr. he could have been rehabilitated...if he had time to recover and rebuild after houston. he was supposed to sit behind jake for a year or two and then step in (still a gamble, but whatever). 

the two crucial things sam needed that he didn't have here was a competent OL and a mentor QB. we didn't really have control over carr having to step on the field earlier than he should have, but we had control over sam's situation here. we failed. we just need to move on. sam is on the same level with clausen and david carr. irreedemable.

Teddy played way better than Darnold and caught way more flack than he probably deserved, and alot of it was coming from the now members of the Sam Darnold fan club oh the irony. 

All this Sam's broken needs rehab, blah..blah.blah.. no...he just can't play. Jamarcus Russell wasn't broken, didn't need rehab either, he just couldn't play. Their is a word for it, it's called a bust. 

Sam's been a bust since he's been in the NFL and after 4 years is no better than he was as a rookie, still turning the ball over at an ungodly rate. 

Maybe he has a career as a backup, hope he's not needed to ever start another game for the Panthers though.

I disagree, I saw his talent and good decision making at times. IMO next year you bring Cam back if this works and let Darnald just breathe. Having to take the beating he did in NY couldn't have been fun. Heck look at them right now. The fans have already jumped off the Zack Wilson train and he's looking to be Darnald 2.0. I'm ok with building our line next year and seeing what happens two years from now. Worst case is we lose a 2nd round pick and have a guy as a back up for a year.

Teddy is one of those good backup/marginal starter types. You feel good if he's your backup. You don't feel good if he's your starter, but guys can have long careers and make a lot of money filling that type of role. Darnold isn't even a good backup. You wonder WTF your organization is thinking if Sam Darnold is on your roster at all.

Teddy got traded to a team who had zero talent at QB and has looked exactly the same. No one is delusional except the people like you who don't understand the complexity of the QB position. I'm not going to trash teddy. He is what he is but we didn't see any more success under him.

If he doesn't get "IR'd" and Tepper doesn't step in to tell Rhule to get his head out of the sand. Darnold probably plays two franchises the Jets and Panthers to top 5 picks in the draft in back to back years.

With that logic I bet a lot of Patriot fans were saying Cam wasn't even a good back up for them. That's why they cut him. Short minded fans are exactly that. Win or you're completely trash.
