The Bills were willing to pull the trigger....

I would not compare Dick Jaurons tenure in Buffalo to Fox's here. Fox's contract will end, he will not be resigned, this is the best and most logical solution.

Yep. Fox done more than what Jauron could ever done. Beside, do we want another Raiders & Bills situation with firing the coach too early? I rather fire Fox at the end of the season than the middle.

The Panthers are not eliminated from playoff contention. Until that happens -- no matter how improbable it is -- it is foolish to even think about firing your head coach.

Also, as an owner you're not going to hire a new coach until the off-season anyway. After all, none of the big name coaching candidates are going to sign with a team midseason if they feel they may have a better offer later.

Yep. But I can't see us getting to the Playoffs right now. It would take a big miracle to accomplish that.

Yep. Chances are that you can hired a better coach at the end of the season. Some might not be interest in joining a team if a new coach is in the middle of the season, even if the new coach is just in temporary until the season is over.

Ralph also had the "balls" to fire the last head coach he had with a winning record. Since firing the last coach he had with a winning record hes hired 3 head coaches in 9 seasons and has 1 season with a record above .500.

Is this a organization we want to use as a model for the Panthers org to follow?

Im going to say no.

and fire their HC. I never thought there would be a day I could say old Ralph Wilson has the Balls to do something JR doesnt.

dumb post, what would he accomplish by firing him mid season? contrary to popular belief, Fox isn't that bad of a Head Coach, he would be on the market long enough to make it to the Airport and that's it.

If the Big Cat were to fire Fox, the more thought out way of going about it would be to wait till the end of the season, and put out feelers to coaches you were interested in(like Cowher) and see if they would share that interest first and then Fire Fox.

because like it or not we have not been half as bad as some people act over the course of Fox's tenure here.

Whether or not Fox should remain the head coach, there should at least be enough respect for him to let him finish out the season. He has turned the franchise around, and brought us within a shitty kick off of winning a Super Bowl. I think he should be gone, but firing him midseason is a very low class move.....and if there is anything that JR isnt, its low class.
