The 2 pointer was more than 10 yds.

Cam had one throw over 10 yds and it was underthrown.

Correction the 2pt was probably 9 yds.

My bad.

Cry more. I know it's devastating to you that Cam Newton is back. You had just gotten used to him being gone. You'd rather lose with bums like Darnold than win with Cam. Feel free to root for the WFT this Sunday. Trust me when I say that we won't miss you. Bum.

yeah but the difference is Cam was signed two days previously. PJ has been in this offense for two full years and knows the entire playbook and we can't can't trust our starting qb to throw for more than 10 yards on 29 passes? time for Cam to take the reigns

I'm sure it'll be 70% cam 30% pj or something like that as ease cam in

Lol I'm happy that he's back.

But he gets held to the same standards as everyone else.

Was it not underthrown? Did DJ not have to slow down?

If it was Allen, PJ or Darnold you'd say underthrown.

Buy obviously it's to be expected he only had one day to throw.

Noo what is wrong with you?

Who wants to lose? Cam is definitely going to help especially in the red zone.

PJ had one pass further than 10 yards in the air.  It was intercepted.

Staff tried to push the narrative that it was because the game dictated.  I don't think I buy that.  At the very least, you take some shots instead of showing your next opponents that you can't.  Sure maybe they're all sideline shots so they are either incomplete or out of bounds.  But you don't keep it all inside 10 yards unless something is very wrong.

Nah, something wasn’t very wrong at all.

we got out to a very big lead and quick….against the #4 D in the NFL and were starting a backup QB.

That is fair, but I'm not too concerned with that because our option is a backup that is very conservative with the ball and honestly doesn't seem to be trying difficult throws anyway, or our future starter with a bit over a week of practice. I get that isn't a great set of options, but I think that it is also bad to put your backup onto the field without giving him many first team snaps, if you know he's gonna play... yet every snap PJ gets with the first team is one Cam can't get... a bit of a tough situation.

Oh I def think that Cam should see the most snaps during the practice week.....I just don't want to see us drop any winnable games until Cam is full tilt.

Thats fair... I tend to think even a limited practicing Cam gives us a better chance than PJ. But that's my own bias...

PJ also checked into some calls and Rhule said they had some dialed up deep balls. Pretty sure Rhule said they took the air out of the ball since they had a big lead and we dont' know what PJ checked into and by definition out of. Maybe he saw C2 and got it to CMC on one of his big plays.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
