He’s been that way before he was “shell shocked” dude just doesn’t have the brains/processing for the position.

Yep. But he probably still has the brains to cash some serious paychecks next year, ones like you and I will never see the likes of. He gets those whether he's sitting on a couch or a bench. We might as well see if we can get something out of him because we sure won't get anything for him without it costing us even more.

And we aren't getting that draft pick back either.

I kept saying we should have taken Mac Jones instead but nobody was wanting to hear any of that. So now I've been trying to be the good guy and spent the season polishing this turd Fitterer and Rhule were so proud of.

we can't let the fact that we made a bad decision impact our future decisions. the reality is now even if we trade sam + a second rounder in order to get cap room for reddick then that is the equivalent of trading reddick for a 2nd rounder which we all would do in a heart beat

it is what it is, but trade the man and anything but a 1st to keep gilmore/djax and reddick

Not really. Regardless of what happens with Cam there is nothing wrong with discussing how we can get out of Darnold’s terrible contract.

Sam being an awful QB and having a laughable cap hit next year has nothing to do with whether or not Cam is here.

Darnolds contract isnt terrible if he has some utility. We have paid guys 10s of millions after they were cut or injured. Sam was good and then very bad but I dont think the staff is so down on him like fans are. I would expect him to come in and compete for the starting job next offseason. Sitting the bench which he has never done might be good for him. Plus having a vet like Cam could help him as well.  And lets be real, Cam is on an 8 game tryout.  There is no guarantee he will be great either. Lets wait until the offseason to decide what we are going to do.

Just laugh out loud at Mac Jones. You guys are just as bad at identifying talent at qb as Matt rhule is.

Darnold serves no purpose here. He’s not getting any better. This is who he is.

Why do people want to keep Darnold?

With the way practice squad’s are setup now there is absolutely no reason to keep more than two QB’s on the roster (as soon as Cam is up to speed Matt Barkley will be cut).

Draft a QB that can learn under Cam, get rid of Darnold, and let’s close the book on him.

Keeping him does nothing for Darnold or the Panthers.

In fact, keeping Darnold prohibits the Panthers from planning for the future.

ultimately we're going to have to hope that a lot of QB's go down with serious injuries in the offseason or early into next year and are willing to pay for darnold

darnold is bad but he's got one more team in him before he's booted from the league

I really don’t think so. I think he’s done. He might catch on at a training camp but that’s about it
