What do you do once we're at 8 losses?

The day you start pulling for your team to lose is the day you stop being a respectable fan in my opinion. You aren't guaranteed anything in this league. Whether or not we will be better under new leadership is pure speculation. I would welcome a change if that's what Jerry determines to be appropriate at the end of the season, but I will not start pulling for my team to lose. And I doubt that any of you would truly do this either. If you are capable of going to a game or watching it on TV and honestly cheering for the opposing team then I don't think you a really that invested in this team as a fan. Rather, this whole "I'm gonna pull for them to lose" thing is just a coping mechanism for their poor performance and in some twisted way you justify it by hoping that it will bring about new leadership. It's what we do in situations of failure - you look for the silver lining. If that silver lining is a change in leadership and it comes at the end of the year then fine. But, in my opinion, to pull for your team to lose so you can claim to be supportive of their losses is not real emotion from a real fan.

Have low expectations, get dirt cheap tickets to home games, enjoy the wins, and not take the losses that hard. That's what.

Oh yeah Fox is going to pull his usual post-good season 7 or 8 wins out of his ass and be here again next year.

not if he sticks with Jake. 7 would be an absolute best case scenario.....Foxy is done. That will be exactly why we will never see a backup play this year. On his way out, if there was a chance there was a better option, why expose the error he made that cost the team the season. We won't see Moore or Feely unless Fox gets word he is safe.

on the Devensive side of the ball i agree with you on Offense other than Smitty and DWill. Look at how many receivers we have drafted, they cant all be bad can they?

We have done a pretty good job with offensive linemen, running backs, and tight ends. Regarding receivers, yea they have pretty much all sucked. None of them have accomplished much outside of Carolina either.

I like Moose and Smith, but its sad that our starting receivers were all drafted by previous coaches.

Regarding Quarterbacks, we really haven't tried to develope one thru the draft in a while, so its hard to say that we can or can't. Only two attempts were made, and given that drafted quarterbacks end up being a bust more often than not even with the best of coaches, thats not enough to determine whether we can or cannot develope a QB.

Never, and I mean Ever, is it acceptable to root for your team to lose.

I can't think of any circumstance that would make me want the Panthers to lose, regardless of what that loss might get us in return.

What if it was the last game of the season and we're 2-13, along with the Lions, the two worst records in the NFL. The Colts GM contacts Jerry and says they want the #1 pick in the draft, and they're willing to trade Peyton Manning straight up for the 1st pick, but it has to be the 1st pick, not the 2nd. Then would you root for the Panthers to lose that game????

Not true, I've been a fan of this team from day one. I hung on ever play till the end of each and every game. I never have liked Fox, his style of play or his" it is what it is " after a loss. Jake never liked him, even going to the super bowl I felt he was a weak link. But I stuck with them year after year and my emotions would get jerked all over the place by these two fools. Then came this off season, the moves fox and company made pushed me over the edge. I refused to back Fox's crazy way's any more. I was willing to sacrifice this season for what I thought would better my team in the future. The Panthers are and will always be my team, but I will not pull for them till Fox and jake are gone from my team.

Meaning I will not drop the panthers for another team, but I fill a losing season is the only way to get rid of them. hence I will not pull for them to succeed.

So did you watch the game last night? Did you just sit there emotionless as someone who claims the "Panthers are and will always be my team"? Did you cheer for Ricky Williams on his three touchdowns. Did you jump for joy when Jake threw his pick? Were you delighted when the final whistle blew?

In my opinion, no true fan would, and more importantly could sit there and honestly cheer on the opposing team out of spite for the coach and quarterback. Pretty pathetic.

Oh, and welcome to the Huddle.
