So when does Cam get the 'C' Back?

The NFL rules say: "In the event of an injury to a team captain requiring them to miss one or more games during the season, a replacement may be named."

This would be the "in" for Cam.  With both Paradis and Darnold injured, they could choose to name Newton a captain.  The interesting question is whether his prior years would count toward his gold patch.

I don't think it really matters. I know people want to restore him back to old but that's not really needed. We just need him to protect the ball and let the defense be nasty. If he can give us 3 TDs a game we can win most games. Being a leader isn't needed but it's something you can do without a patch too.

I know we all love Cam but Cam stepping in off the street and getting the C right away.... I dont know. Im sure there are other guys in the locker rook that have been there all year that deserve it more. 

I would probably reward it to a guy that has been here all season and let Cam earn it next season.
