A few excerpts.  Bolded is my emphasis.

*****************

"The Cardinals took a bad loss, being absolutely blasted 34-10 by the Carolina Panthers with P.J. Walker (and occasionally Cam Newton) at quarterback."

"They lost to a shorthanded Packers team a couple weeks ago, but that was a close game. This one was not."

"Arizona will obviously be better when it gets its offensive stars back. Sunday was ugly."

It's good to have some positive press for a change !

sports.yahoo.com is one of the most popular sports sites on the internet, second only to ESPN.com in the number of viewers.   Today millions of people read those quotes about Carolina dominating Arizona.

I thought the Huddle might like to know the national press was being complimentary about the Panthers for a change.

I don't think it was a matter of being complimentary towards the Panthers as much as it was being derogatory towards the Cards. Nice to read though.

I didn't even know yahoo was still in business, in any capacity. What did AOL sports say?

Twitter has the lock on good sports content, it's just with all the the rest of the crazy but that's how it goes.

Twitter is good for one or two line reports on contracts, trades or rumors.  It's the place to get breaking news.  But with only 280 characters there's obviously no in-depth analysis or longer articles there.   You need other, news-oriented sites to fulfill that kind of role.  That's what ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, etc are for.

There are some guys who post good film breakdowns to Twitter sometimes. Baldy's stuff is usually on there.

Yeah but those in-depth analysis are opinions also, just from larger sources that have bigger income streams. That's why I consider them entertainment news, they are there to get paid 1st and an analysis is a distant 2nd. More likely to be clickbait than substance. They have to do that to support their overhead where there are smaller sources like Ellis or 4manfront that kills those mindless noise machines where profit is calculated before their analysis.

Twitter allows for that small format to link the good analysis and avoid the big noise makers. There is a ton of BS but most of that can be filtered out once you dial into some good sources.

some more quotes, from their message board.

People just didnt believe the Panthers defensive hype was for real. It is. Sam Darnold was just too much of a disaster for them to overcome.

Panthers earned it, their best game all season - but should we not prepare for that every week? Cam juiced them, but I’ve fanned on through much worse. Chins up, ready to take a blow!

First of all we played like crap with a bunch of starters hurt! Second thing is Carolina will be in the playoff hunt book it they are not as bad as people though Darnold just sucked! Signing Cam and their defense makes them a threat to every team every week. That defense is fast and nasty.

Arizona has some knowledable, respectful fans who can admit the truth.  Not use to that, being in the NFC South.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
