I believe the lack of noise was due to the fact that everyone who cheered was removed from the stadium. I was in 534 and our section alone had at least 6 fans removed. None of them were doing anything more than cheering for their team, except the guy who chucked a beer bottle. One guy was removed because the security guard thought he threw the bottle, even though everyone told him he wasn't the guy. Way too many Dolphins fans, I felt like we were playing in Miami.

Exact opposite problem in my section. A group of drunk, toothless fatasses swaddled in puke orange were going completely fuging buck wild all night. Getting up in people's faces, screaming insults, flipping the bird to the rest of the section non stop while standing on top of their seats, etc. The security guy on the top row just sat there and watched it all night.

Yeah, an opposing team with a big, nationwide fanbase owned our stadium. Didn't see that coming. That's just how it's going to be until we win a Super Bowl or rip off a long stretch of dominance with a bunch of back-to-back division titles or the like.

The thing that gets me about a lot of the non-Panthers fans that actually grew up around here is that they seem to walk around with a chip on their shoulder, like they're renegades or bad-asses on the fringes of society or something. Oh you rebel, following a team like the Cowboys, Redskins, or Dolphins with a much bigger nationwide fanbase than the Panthers. Newsflash: this is Charlotte, not fuging Oakland. You're not going to get your ass kicked for wearing the "wrong jersey" dipshit.

At least not until my sons get a little older.

Please tell me this isn't true.

Where is the uproar? Why do the Panthers not have to release public statements about this issue to quell outrage?

Well, complaining about a similar experience landed a friend of one of the regular posters here on the news a while ago. If the complaints mount, meaning people actually going to news outlets and the like, then something could change.
