Will Dwayne Jarret ever..

Why in the hell do you guys keep defending Jarrett by pointing out passes to other receivers? None of that has a damn thing to do with whether Jarrett can get open or not.

And yes...Jake made enough throws to win that game if Davidson lets them run the ball in the red zone and if the defense and ST's wouldn't have sucked so bad. I don't know if it's the loss of TD or what, but that looked like a completely different defense that I saw two weeks ago. To blame that entire game on the QB is ludicrous.

im not saying poo about Jarrett

jake sucked, he always will suck and we will never go to another playoff game with him under center.. yeah hes done alot took us to the Superbowl but his days are done. Even in his good days i think smitty made him look alot better then he really was

Jake played well enough to win that game. This is not a passing team people. This team is built to run, but for some reason, they're trying to be a passing team in the red zone, and that's simply not what they do best.

How about taking a hard look at the lack of play making WR's (besides Smitty), the ST's, and the defense before you go blaming the QB for everything? That was a team loss if there ever was one.

And Jarrett is not a good WR. It's time for everybody to just accept that and move on. I have defended the guy as much as anybody, but he's just not getting it done here and he won't get it done on any other team, with any other QB either. He might get a catch here and there, because he does have good hands, but if you can't get seperation consistently in this league, then you're not gonna last long.

BS on that. Jake played bad. Coaching was the ultimate reason we lost, but Jake had a bad game.

How do you figure he was that bad? He had this team in a position to win the game if the defense could have gotten a stop when they needed to. He threw one INT and missed some other throws, but he moved the ball down the field for the most part, even though his tackles were getting their asses kicked in pass protection. There is just no way you can honestly put all the blame on Jake for this one.

you dont need great WR's if u have a qb that can throw good look at the saints those WRs dont even have to try the ball falls right in there numbers

Jake's passes for the most part were erratic just about the whole game. He didn't play horrible, but he did play bad. That pick was a horrible throw, especially since D-Will was WIDE OPEN in the flats and possibly could have scored had Delhomme not stare down Smitty. One of the passes in the red zone, Delhomme stared down Moose, completely missing an open Jeff King. Also, D.Will and the run game helped move the ball down the field most of the game. It's not all on Jake though, our coaching was horrible. Jake isn't the only reason we lost. I agree our defense sucked as well. I'm just saying Jake had a bad game.

Actually, I've seen Saints receivers make some great catches that have bailed their QB out, and they have more than one of them that can do it. Don't tell me WR's don't matter, because they do. There is a reason why the Patriots traded for Wes Welker and Randy Moss, instead of relying on the WR's they drafted, and even though they already had a great QB.

Jarrett is only 23!!! He has a lot of upside still, I will agree that the routes they call for him are poo. But take this into consideration; we do NOT have an NFL calibur quarterback playing on this team and Davidson may be the worst OC in the league.

He needs more expreience to read defences, and he needs to watch alot of film of when Keyshawn played. Oh and I GUARANTEE you people would be singing his praises if we had a Quarterback.

It's been 3 freakin years. If Jarrett don't get it by now, he never will. There are rookies all over the league that are leaving Jarrett in their dust right now. Stop blaming the QB for his short comings. Jake is obviously not great, but he is trying to get Jarrett involved in the offense and it's just not working. Even with all the bad throws people keep pointing out, Smitty, Moose, D.Will, and all three TE's are still getting their share of pass receptions, while Jarrett is not.

One things i really think the panthers WR lack is speed other than smitty of course. i've always liked moose but hes pretty slow like jarret, rosario, everyone outside of smith seems so damn slow!! even though jake is off it seems no one can ever get any separation and no one that can get any decent Yac except smith..

Good QBs will bring out the best in their WRs. Did Moss stink when he was on the Raiders? Or did his QBs stink? I pull for this team as much as anybody else does, and while I think the season is salvageable (meaning we'd have to win out from here), I don't have the confidence in our coaches and some significant others that they can get that done. This team just seems befuddled, and even snakebit.

If there are questions about Jarrett or any other receiver, let's make some changes and see where the fault lies. At 4-6 with no ability to establish any consistency, I think it's high time to let Moore start a few games. Lets see what the numbers are for the receivers with a QB switch. We all know that Jake rarely, RARELY, goes thru the 'progressions' that successful QBs do, he has that maddening tendency to lock in on his intended receiver from the time the ball is snapped to the time he let's it fly. Let's see if Moore can scan the field before passing to the open receiver. If Jarrett or any others show they can, or cannot, get open and make plays when given an opportunity, then we have the basis to make the needed changes to correct that for next season. But let's start trying to improve NOW! We really don't have that much to lose by doing so, not the way we're playing!

    • What's wrong with what he wants to do? Going to the wrong organization can ruin your career. Many of you would do the same if you could dor your son's.
    • I think they should just end the drama and tell him he's playing for his next team. Full stop. This week to week "do they, don't they", "will they, won't they" stuff is crazy.  Maybe Shanahan will trade one of their 3rds for him rather than pay Purdy the big dollars--he's certainly on the list of coaches I think would say, "They're just not using him right". Plus Lynch already knows the Panthers' price list. Bryce can head back home to California and Carolina can continue its neverending quest to replace Cam.
