Do you still trade peppers?

I think it is possible that a new coach and GM franchise him, but then actually look for a trade offer rather than doing it just to keep him like the current braintrust did.

That, or a new coach could convince him to stick around for a more reasonable offer. You never know.

:nonod: How are we going to trade him when he only signed a one year contract. I wheather not resign him to another large 1 year contract. He ain't worth the risk. We need to use the money else where on the team. This team has other needs to address. Like resigning Dwill and TD gettting some young beef up guys for the DT postions and we really need some better WRs to help out smith and most of all find us a freaking Qb who can throw like a brady are manny. Peppers has slowed down and got fatter in the past 2 years and he is turing 32 next year. It is time for people stop kissing peppers ass and let him go. Peppers is just not worth it. Time to move on and find a new front four. Peppers is the last remaining orginal front 4 from the SB year. But is then and this now. Time to move on without him.:nonod:

I have to agree... Pepp is a great player (when he wants to be) and is certainly a plus on the defense but is not worth the type of money the Panthers would have to give him... unless they would be able to sign him to a large dollar figure that would span the rest of his career being a Panther, I don't see it being worth it.

The money saved by not re-signing him could go a long way in re-signing key players (DWill and TDavis) and being able to sign a few good free agents, especially a receiver. To name a few, the following are going to by available next year: Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall, Braylon Edwards, Miles Austin and Steve Breaston. Either of those would be a good #2 opposite of Smith to replace Moose as I don't think he will be back... if not a WR, get some good D-Lineman if Tank and the other guy we traded for (can't remember his name) don't pan out... Kemo is done; no way someone that big will be 100% after that type of an injury at that age... look at Lavar Arrington after he shot his achilles; is he playing for anyone? He certainly was in better shape than Kemo and younger... Free Agent D-Tackles for next year: Vince Wilfork and Richard Seymour... would take either of them...

Basically I think the money could be be spent better elsewhere and not tied up in one player... I would rather 2 players over 1

Ha Jared allen of the Vikings get double team aswell but he always manges to get sacks and constant pressure on the QB all the time. Pepper is turning 32 this coming year and is not worth risking 20 plus million on him. Hell Peppers can't even get a second string QB and agaist a oline that has more injuries then our oline has. that shows you that peppers no longer can preform at a high level. The only time he got his sacks this season was mainly from crappy teams like the bucs and skins. And he caught the cards on a off day. besides that every other game this season peppers seems to disappear and get man handle by other teams oline most of the time. Is that how blind some fans are. Peppers has shown this season that he can not produce agaist good teams one bit. So why would you risky 20 million plus on a guy is getting old and can no longer produce at a high level like he use to.

Was Jared allen playing with one arm??...Does peppers have anything close to the williams wall. And peppers will not be 32...and most DE pad stats against crappy teams..your post is full of fail

Allen has cashed in on a bad Green Bay team. Aaron Rodgers is on pace to shatter David Carr's single season sack record.

Pep has one hand

Only if it gets us a high first rounder and another pick (2-3 round).

Peppers is an amazing athlete and player when he gives it his all but we have others that can do nearly as well and don't have anywhere near the financial impact of Peppers.

you cant be serious...most of jared allen sacks or plays came against an oline in gb that sucks more ass than smithers plus they are back ups.like everybody says plus he got the williams wall and look what pep's got.no argument go do something bc youre talking out your ass now

Why would you think Peppers would sign his Franchise Tag contract this offseason soon enough where we could actually trade him?

The whole reason he didn't sign it last offseason until long after the draft is so his agent would have control over where he goes.

Let him go. We can't trade him because he's on a 1 year contract...but I don't think many of you really watched the game last night. He did have a forced fumble but it came when the guy was pretty much on the ground and he recovered it. He didn't play on ANY run downs and was pretty generally non-existant. A fan sitting near me commented "You know, I don't think I've heard Million Dollar Baby's name all night." Sure, he's having a fine season statistically, but he doesn't take over games like he used to. At this point for a million dollars a game, we could do more with the money he is using up.

PS- Peppers is 29, born in January 1980 (a quick check on espn would be prudent) to the guy who said he's turning 32...

He has a broken bone in his hand so they only brought him in on passing situations.
